The roster him and a team do. They make the minor league players edit the rosters. Generally not a players attributes unless its a minor league player. They then send there work to him where he does his magic. The players who aren't on the show's roster have to be made. They do the best they can to make the likeness close. In the show you can sculpt your players faces. Now for the stadiums mentioned above. Those are made by the guys who bring you mlb the show.

Thanks! Yeah, I was talking about the stadiums, I wasn't sure if they were hand made or not. That's pretty cool that they include a few old ones. Unfortunately, County Stadium was not one that most people would consider worthy of the work to put it in the game

You can sculpt faces? Do all the classic rosters have faces sculpted, or do they just pick and choose the popular ones? I'd be happy with even generic models. That's pretty cool though either way.

Are these rosters edited offline with some kind of editor? I have a few editors that I coded for some old NES games, but nothing for anything modern.

The dev team at SCEA does the stadiums.....there is no stadium editor.

-As for rosters.....when we create the O.S.F.M. set.....that is the set with minor league players.....there are many editors who work on the set....some guys do stats...some guys just faces...others will do equip and stances...some guys do everything....but every player added by the team gets the full treatment...

-The classic roster sets that I create are completed by just myself....I include every player from a specific team/year and they are also fully edited...info/ratings/faces/equip/stances

-The editor in the game is very robust...and you can really get the players to look like their real life counterparts with a good effort.

Awesome. If my company keeps me at this client for any longer, I'll have enough money to buy two PS4s Can't wait for March...

Im also a total noob to The Show? My question is even worse. Just bought the game two days ago used, Yasiel Puig is no where to be seen, Rosters are way out dated. Do I need an online pass simply to have updated rosters? ie buy a new game with code on back.

Try these out. I don't know if you know how to download and unzip and put into the game. There's a tutorial here but if you need help there are a lot of computer savvy people who can help.

You do need to be able to go online (to the Vaults and such...connected to SCEA's servers) to get the SCEA updated rosters and/or user created roster unless you can download....unzip and transfer(it's easy....if you have trouble I'll walk you through it...let me know) to your PS3 HDD....as lhslancers posted.

There are quite a few "pretenders"(to be kind) when looking for O.S.F.M. rosters.

Look for ones with the creator as RidinDwnKingsley or Knight165.

For classic rosters.....there are quite a few threads in the roster section(look at the top forum in the Show section).....and you can pretty much go with any of those authors and know they are good.

OK. One more noob question. If I download one of those rosters from the vault will it overwrite the updated one i now have? Or can I download as many as I like and pick and choose which I use? Its more about player appearance I suppose as everything looks to be up date minus the transactions the last few days

You can download as many rosters as you want. Now what ever mode you are playing. Example: you are playing franchise mode. The roster you picked for that you can not change. Unless you change it manually. If you use the OS roster that is the roster you will always have. So pick your roster wisely.

Franchise mode, Manager/Season mode. Road to the Show mode. And yes you can delete them whenever you want. In exhibition mode you can use whatever roster you want. How the other modes work. It gives you the option to load a roster or use SCEA's preset roster. Its better to use a updated roster in my opinion. Least later on when the OS rosters come out. But if you are just wanting to see what the game is about. It is best to use the roster you like the most and are most comfortable with.

Hey guys, one month away for the PS4 release! So, I've been watching videos, reading blogs, etc to get a feel for this stuff. Two questions arose...

1.) The above stuff we talked about playing historic teams...will those work on the PS4?

2.) Can someone summarize the different hitting interfaces? Here's what I've gathered:

I know "timing" is just hit a single button at the right time and the CPU/attributes take over to determine the result.

But the other modes I've heard a lot of terms but don't know if some of them are just different ways to say the same thing, or what.

Zone, analog, analog + zone, and there's one where you just move the stick back for stride, and up for swing (is that analog?). Then I saw one where you move a yellow sunburst around to pick the spot where to swing and another button to determine direction. Then there's the PCI, not sure if that shows up on all modes.

Can someone summarize this for me?

I'm in a similar boat as you, new dad, former 360 exclusive, but i bought a PS3 to play last of us and this. Coming from a yearly MLB2Ker, the switch hasn't been too drastic as far as my ability to play the game. a few details to figure out, but video game baseball is video game baseball.

Now the switch itself has been incredible. This is easily the best baseball game i have ever played and I have played at least one game a year dating back to the mid 90s. Can't wait to make the switch to a PS4 this year and then get Show 15 for it.

As for hitting, I have gone with Zone. Timing, felt incredibly random. This may be a good thing for some, but I like feeling in control. I like locating the "zone" and timing the swing. It takes a little time, but practice pays off. In my college and law school days, I probably would have taken the time to perfect analog + zone, but i don't have time now.

I took the advice of others and turned guess pitch off. I've been very happy. I find myself being more patient, and waiting on pitches better. I generally just center my zone in a specific area and then wait for the right pitch. In favorable counts, I'll use power swing and less favorable will use normal swing. I haven't really needed to rely on a contact swing. But I noticed that with guess pitch, I was getting trigger happy because i chose the correct pitch type, and wound up chasing far too often.

I guess as a new guy, I would appreciate some input on the true differences in the swing types as I seem to be able to put wood on the ball with normal swing. If i strike out, it was due to watching a close strike 3 or just being fooled with an early or late swing.

I'm playing RTTS right now, which is really awesome. I'll wait on my franchise until the full roster update is finished. I could be wrong, but regardless of your position, I would recommend maxing out speed because of the huge attribute gain you get in comparison to the other positions. It is pretty cheap to get to a good place for power/contact in the first year, but with full speed attributes, i'm able to swipe bags pretty well.

The only negative for me, and it isn't even a real negative about the game, is there is soooo much new and cool stuff that it is almost overwhelming. You need a few weeks to simply take in all the changes and figure out what you like.
