Re: 'Universal Currency' Coming to MLB 14 The Show
If it's simply "currency" and not tied to gameplay, no big deal.
If it's "universal currency" (VC) that is used to make changes to in-game lineups and features, SCEA is going to get blowback.
The good news is they have a chance to see the overwhelming reaction from their core fan base and have time to adjust things, so I'm not too concerned.HE'S GOT ONE FLAP DOWN!Comment

HOW DARE YOU SIR! Leave your agenda out of this! He only writes based on facts and/or real evidence!
...or not...
Originally posted by pastapadrePutting such a focus on In-Game Currency by making it a major pre-order incentive suggests it’ll play a bigger role. Besides just that the “Universal” part is deeply troubling.
The second part is just laughable and no better than the fear-based and fact-free conjecture that we see posted by anyone on an internet forum (including this thread). "Universal" is typically used to simply suggest streamlining and cross-mode/function/platform/whatever availability. It doesn't usually equate to something as pervasive and restrictive as VC turned out to be.
None of that is to say it couldn't possibly turn out to be as bad as VC, but, you see, that's the best part about publishing these kind of "what if" scenarios...you are free from any real responsibility for it.
Why bother with pesky things like a developer's track record or tangible info when we can spread doom and gloom! If you end up being right, you say "I told you so." If you're wrong, it's either "I am just looking out for the people!" or "I pushed them to change!"Comment

Re: 'Universal Currency' Coming to MLB 14 The Show
I might catch some backlash for this but honestly I am fine with w/e they decide to do with all of this. Normally I'd be kind of upset but with me saving $120 thanx to the ax job on NCAA Football (will never buy Madden again cuz of this) I will flat out buy anything that they put out there for DLC as long as its not like "roid ur players out" or just buy a bigger budget.
Now if they put it to good use it could b amazing. Imagine if they put a relocation, renovate or build a new stadium system in franchise mode! That would make it to where u could get Tampa out of that god awful fan base and put them sumwhere where fans would go! I just don't see them making us spend money over stupid things. I think this is gonna mean more expanding on the game. Who knows tho.Comment

Yes, but I says that it will "increase the budget by 120M" It doesn't say anywhere that it will increase the ball clubs INCOME by 120M. That is what I am wondering, how will this work for smaller clubs? Are we going to Obama it? "Lets increase our budget by $120M!" "But boss!?! we don't have an extra $120M!"
Unless it lets money grow on trees for the smaller clubs, I think it will be pretty unrealistic, and if you want to play as a team with deep pockets, just be the Yankees, or the Mariners LOL!Comment

I heard that SCEA will offer an updated color blue for the Blue Jays jersey that you have to pay to unlock"Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Oh, you were kidding?
Well, maybe in a few months it will be funny, or maybe it won't. One guess is as good as the other right now.Comment
