I completely understand what you are saying, I just remember reading that mlb 07 on the ps3 wasn't that great or a huge step from the ps2 version and didn't fair all too well in reviews. However I recall hearing that the ps3 was very hard to develop games on in the beginning and that the ps4 is actually easier to develop games on, so therefore thinking that SCEA might have a easier time creating MLB 14 on the ps4 than what they did on MLB 07 for the ps3, initially being able to harness more power out of the ps4 than what they could on the ps3 the first time around. More than likely I'm reading to far into what Russell said, but I'm not game developer nor work in the industry so I'm totally speculating.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Features Online Franchise - New Screenshots and Videos From Taiwa
You guys need to put into perspective the change of paradigm, pretty much, that happened with PS2 to PS3. You were working on complex, intimidating, and hard to program for hardware. Altogether weak hardware relative to what it could have been with a decent GPU and extra RAM.
All the sudden you were using complex shaders on an entirely different interface with tools hardly considered to be decent.
They may have not had a lot of time on the PS4 but development will have been 300x easier once they, if they had not previously, get the old codebase up and running (whatever they are keeping that is). Not saying it's easy peasy just that now is a different and nicer, gentler world than those days were to teams.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Features Online Franchise - New Screenshots and Videos From Taiwa
A few things I hope make it into the PS4 version. I've never had any issues with gameplay I've always been an equipment guy and true to real life feel of the players and ballpark.
Tor,AZ,Mia,Sea,Hou,Mil all get at least the options of opened and closed roof(I could care less if it opened during game, just want the option to choose before the game starts or if bad weather is the forecast it'll automatically do it is fine by me).
The player editor:I'm hoping they open up the customization. Example(NONE OF IT NEEDS TO BE NAME BRAND everyone already knows why) More batting gloves, Mitts(Trapeze,Web,Hinge Etc) More variations in the glasses, jewelry, shin guards, variation in pine tar on the bat(only has 1 type now). Get rid the player wearing the MLB The Show Jersey and put him in his real team uni the player editing would be easier and faster. Home/Road equipment(This applies to things like batting gloves, catcher's gear etc...) More variation in catchers gear such as allowing us to edit the colors of the masks and helmets(hockey style) and different mask types(Think Jorge Posada a while back).Last edited by ShowTyme15; 01-27-2014, 07:01 PM.Comment

Hey I get your perspective. I'm a franchise guy and I play ever game without simming (all 162 games and playoffs if I get that far) The game has always played well for me and I've had no complaints with game play ever. I'm not worried about bugs on the new system(every game on the planet always has bugs) SCEA always does a great job in finding problems and fixing them in most cases. I honestly doubt you'll have to worry about bad game play issues on the PS4. These guys are good at what they do.Comment

2k had it in their editor(including Minor League unis when editing those players). Madden has it as does NBA 2k14(always had it prior as well)Last edited by ShowTyme15; 01-27-2014, 07:09 PM.Comment

I thought at least 2k13 baseball and NBA 2k for PS4 had real uniforms in the editor, but I could totally be wrongComment

2K baseball and Basketball have always had it even dating back to Dreamcast days. Madden/NCAA football have always had it too dating back to PS1 daysComment

Not sure if anyone noticed or has mentioned it but in the beginning Jackie Bradley Jr. is at the plate and the game does a layover showing his Triple-A stats. I've never seen that before. Just a neat tid bit I noticed that makes The Show so awesome!MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues
NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors
College Sports: Pittsburgh Panthers, Penn State Nittany LionsComment
