Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)

This year's title will emphasize the three announcers in a more interactive, conversational style, yet will also continue to mine the world of baseball to find intelligent, timely and compelling commentary concerning today's teams and players
I really hope this includes Matt, Eric & Steve mentioning career and prior year stats of pitchers and batters during the broadcast to give it more of an authentic feel.

The one thing I loved about listening to a 2K broadcast was the wealth of stats that the commentary team utilized during the broadcast to inform me of things that I didn't know which really gave it that broadcast feel.

Hearing things like "Adam Jones batted .325 against lefthanders last year" or "Kershaw was 7-2 against the NL West last year" really kept me entertained and wondering what stat I would hear next

I keep reading through the list and getting myself excited. I can't wait to see more details on franchise mode.

Realistic contracts... hiring and firing coaches... Can't wait. I hope they added back ticket pricing and all of that also. I enjoyed the basic business aspects of it from the older years. I also hope player progression is more realistic. Hoping the dynamic RTTS progression carries over into other modes.

So many "little" things to look forward to.

Improved CPU plate discipline comes right to mind. On 13 it is good and far better than 11 and 12 and now it will be even better. Love that.

Pitchers being able to bring up the pitch history clicking L3......HUGE! Always wanted that.

New organ assortments! Does that mean organ warm-up music is back after a one year hiatus? Mmmmm. Not that I minded the new rock music between innings.

Also wonder if the replay suite is back for post game.

New True broadcast enhancments!!!! Can't wait to see all of that.

New baserunning paradigm That will be a welcome enhancment. I can only imagnine how much better the animations and collision detection will be this time around.

Of course cross platform saving is the real monster for me. Just thinking about that get's me so fired up to start up a new Yankees franchise (30 team control of course) to carry me year after year after year....always wanted that. I typically will get 2 years in when the next game comes out.....and start over again....not anymore. Truly remarkable feature.

Again The Show is never just a roster update.....it truly enahnces itself each and every year in so many little ways.....really really can't wait for April 1st!!!

Another little thing about the UI... the tiles are dynamic, and the image zooms and crops in the background of the active tile. Also, the information on the tile is "real time" too - meaning, if you are in franchise and hover over the Stats tile, it displays stat info (league leaders, standings, etc.) in the tile without entering that tab; if that makes sense. Very nicely done.

Will there be more in-game presentation/replays on the Vita this year?

New dynamic gameplay camera for batting...maybe a hitter's first person perspective...or some feedback of what pitch is being thrown like MVP?

The only thing I care about regarding this is if the AI will chase pitches in the dirt. The other issues with the batter AI I can live with. You have to pitch differently to The Show AI batters than you would a real MLB batter. When you have a batter 1-2 after 3 fastballs on the corner, a 99 movement splitter in the dirt should at least warrant a flinch. Pitches that routinely get MLB hitters don't have the same effect in The Show.. Its been discussed on here at length over the years, but if the AI hitters now swing at in-the-dirt pitches at a realistic frequency it could change how you pitch in The Show completely.

Yes I want to see CPU chase pitches out of the strike zone more. CPU reaction to breaking/off-speed pitch has been steadily improving IMO, but where it still fails is that we still have to battle around the strike zone. You cannot really take the CPU batters way out of the zone and expect them to be fooled. That's something I want to see more as well.

I just thought of this, but it'd be nice if the sleeveless jerseys were actually now sleeveless on ps4 instead of regular jerseys with different color sleeves.

                          I doubt this happens though.

I agree, not that my agreeing means much, but I agree!

I think this was just all about there being 1 jersey template on ps3, basically the same with the Yankees' numbers being too low on the jersey. If the Yankees' number problem is fixed, I don't see why there wouldn't be sleeveless jerseys on PS4. Don't take my word for it though, not 100% sure on it.

Well I for one would really hope with all the great improvements the PS4 version is getting that the game will now have more then just 1 jersey template.
