Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
I knew a guy named Tommy Flynn who was a member of my VFW post in St Louis. He was on the USS Allen at Pearl Harbor which was credited with shooting down three Japanese planes during the attack.
I always sim my minor league games but I'm not surprised somebody plays them.≡Comment

I wonder if they found a way for managers and coaches jersey #s to correspond with the rest of the team. Kind of gets annoying seeing a manager/coach wearing the same # as a player.
Example: In my MLB 13 Mariners Franchise. Robinson Cano and Eric Wedge bother wore #22Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Can someone let me know if I have this correct, please forgive the noob question. My current franchise I have running on 13 will not be able to be carried over when 2015 comes out. Just franchises started with the 2014 version will be able to do that?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Refined player generation, with more position-specific attribute ranges (Online Franchise)
New contract decision logic, which factors in contract renewable and arbitration status more heavily (Online Franchise)
New lineup logic that takes into account secondary positions (Online Franchise)
Refined trade logic (Online Franchise)
Retired players stored for every season (Online Franchise)
More player stats stored for every season (Online Franchise)
Great info as always from the devs but this part has me confused. It would seem all of these features would be valuable to offline franchise as well but having them labeled separately as (Online Franchise) are they only exclusive to that mode? Can we get a clarification?
I know you could probably do an online franchise by yourself and have access to these added features but this has many negatives. Not being able to transfer saves to MLB 15 and not being able to have backup saves incase you mess up.
Edit: I am mainly asking about the first four items, I understand due to memory limitations that the last two are probably only online franchise due to the saves being in the cloud but I see no reason why the first four wouldn't be implemented in offline franchise as well.. I'm buying the game either way just curious being a franchise guy.Last edited by BrianU; 03-01-2014, 06:16 PM.Comment

BrianU, I would like to know as well. I'm anxious to see the developer blog on franchise mode. I really want the business aspect back of altering prices and other things. I also hope field degradation is added over the next few years. I remember MLB 06 The Show you had to re-sod the field. I want that level of detail back.Comment

LOL
Happy to see the fact sheet and it looks awesome. LOVE LOVE LOVE the death of advancement goals in RTTS as well as the player lock concept. Dynamic Difficulty sounds very interesting as well, if only to know what the game thinks I should be playing on if nothing else.
Now I'm just curious/concerned about online franchises getting those improvements that it seems offline isn't (or we don't know if they will or won't)...
Won't keep from getting the game at some point like I got MLB13 later, but still...
Word comes out that they are in offline as well - will have to jump all over this."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Yeah, that I think is the big one. Something that's been requested for a long time.
These ones seem like they would be part of any franchise mode as they are just behind the scenes logic improvements and maybe just a mistake that the (Online Franchise) was added. I just can't see them only implementing these improvements into the online franchise.
- Refined player generation, with more position-specific attribute ranges (Online Franchise)
- New contract decision logic, which factors in contract renewable and arbitration status more heavily (Online Franchise)
- New lineup logic that takes into account secondary positions (Online Franchise)
- Refined trade logic (Online Franchise)
These are obviously only for online franchise.
-New user management functionality at TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
-Make, accept, and vote on trades through TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
-Resolve and simulate games on TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
-League members can now manage games on TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
But these two.
- Retired players stored for every season (Online Franchise)
- More player stats stored for every season (Online Franchise)
They seem like they could be an online only feature if the data is store online and only accessible through the online franchise menus. I hope not, but they could have gone this route technically.≡Comment
