Re: MLB 14 The Show Video and Developer Blog - Quick Counts and Player Lock
This is good stuff. Liking the new way the game looks. (not to sound unappreciative of the new info especially since we haven't gotten any recently) BUT I'd LOVE to just SEE what the PS4 is up to. Honestly the PS3 screens and vids aren't doing it for me anymore knowing how good the initial PS4 shots looked. Hopefully by next week (or the week after) they'll be ready to throw some PS4 media our way.

Sounds good, but the pitching motions all still look terrible.
Hopefully animations will be a bit better on PS4.Comment

"Player Search" (from the Menu screen) is a great addition. Definitely something a lot of people, including myself, wanted to have. Thanks!!!PSN: ckarlic

I wouldn't count on it. I'd be surprised if we see anything more than a couple screenshots of the PS4 before the PS3 version is released. Their goal right now is to maximize their sales of the PS3 version and not alienate that fan base before moving their attention to PS4 owners. The blogs will refer to both versions, but any video released in March should be PS3 only. This is good stuff. Liking the new way the game looks. Re: MLB 14 The Show Video and Developer Blog - Quick Counts and Player Lock
Here is my theory on that. And its just a theory.
But my friend, Graig Kreindler does some AMAZING paintings of MLB players.
He has told me the law allows him to create one painting of each work and it must be different in some way than the original if he intends to sell it.
So, my theory is that SCEA artists have to do the same thing when they create these stadiums and features in the stadiums.
Remember, someone created the real life buildings and scoreboards and in a sense were artists themselves. So re-creating exact replicas would be a copyright infringement. So SCEA makes the Wrigley numbers Yellow instead of White to protect themselves from copyright infringement or from forcing themselves from pursuing the rights from the original designer.
AGAIN..... Just a theory.Comment

I also noticed on the Score Bug it gave the weather and wind conditions before the pitcher made the pitch, very nice. When you come to a fork in the road, take it..... Yogi Berra

Re: MLB 14 The Show Video and Developer Blog - Quick Counts and Player Lock
But at least in the PS3 version they still do not have the Home Run stat overlay box popup while the batter who just hit the Home Run is rounding the bases. Instead you see the Home Run overlay box appear when the next batter is at the plate. I would like it to be more like what you see on a real baseball TV broadcast where the Home Run stat overlay box pops up while the camera is on the batter rounding the bases. I am hoping this was changed for the PS4 version but I am not counting on it. I have been requesting this small change for a few years now and I am kind of surprised it's taking so long for Sony to change it. Unless of course Sony likes the way it currently is for some reason and has no plans to ever change it which would be very disappointing.
This is how it should be in MLB The Show when a player hits a Home Run. Or at least something similar to this
Also I love how the camera follows McCann right into the dugout getting high fives from all his team mates. This presentation should also be in MLB The Show!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Video and Developer Blog - Quick Counts and Player Lock
not sure if the devs look at these boards but i have one suggestion for quick counts: give us two separate options for turning them on. for example if i want to enable quick counts for when im batting but not when im pitching i should be able to (without having to go into the menu after every half-inning).
either way the feature itself sounds exactly like what ive been hoping for. im one of those people who doesnt draw a lot of walks and the cpu pitch count is generally low against me so i am looking forward to it. that being said when im on the mound its generally pretty true to life in terms of my pitch counts and things like that. so i would love the option to only have it enabled for my at-bats.Comment
