    Exactly my thoughts.

I have no issue with Online Franchise. (ONF) If people think its great and its what theyve been asking for, then awesome for them. I will probably try it, but I dont see those few features to be enough of a draw to dedicate my time to an ONF.

As stated before, there are too many potential variables to occur that would prevent an instance of gameplay.

Like I said, I'll try it, but I'll most likely stick to my Offline Franchise (OFF) as I usually do every year.

Im not even upset that OFF doesnt match ONF.

If I can do online franchise with just myself, i'll be happy...can't remember if that's possible or not.

I intend on playing an offline franchise with my Pads and an online franchise (still undecided on the team) with a buddy of mine... Best of both worlds...

Re: MLB 14 The Show Blog - Online Franchise

The issue is there are exclusive features to offline franchise (like contract logic, editable potential, hire/fire manager, notifications) and exclusive features to online franchise (like lineup logic, trade logic, stored player stats) and every year the gap will increase between the two modes and they will both have more and more exclusive features. For the Human vs CPU franchise guys we are getting screwed because we have to choose between which features matter the most.

Personally I am still going with offline franchise but I will miss the CPU lineup and trade logic as well as stored player stats. IMO the best situation is to have offline franchise eliminated and have it all online so we benefit from the expanded player stats as long as it has the ability to have custom rosters and save states. I would feel better if the devs gave us their plan for the future right now it seems like they are doing half and half on each mode I don't feel good about the future if that is their method.

Editing potential and hiring/firing managers is only in offline franchise?

Custom league setup for one....and the benefits of what has been worked on for the online franchise as well.

If it had Manage only Mode....it would be a no brainer for me.
But most play out the games in a "regular" fashion and it's a good alternative.

What's the difference in where you are playing your games...?...online of offline ....if it works for you?

There are some other differences where offline has an advantage to me. Minor leagues being one.

To be honest I feel like the two modes will come closer together from a AI stand point. I feel the devs know they created a divergence between the modes for offline players with evidence being that Ramone actively posted a few times they were trying to get the improvements into offline when concern was raised. Now that online franchise is built I don't see why the current and future changes can't be added to both.

You are right in that the only question a user should have asked themself was... Do I want to play franchise with other users or not?

I am curious if online franchise does not include these features on the fact sheet, you'd think if it was offline only they would have put (Franchise) or (Offline Franchise) as they did with (Online Franchise). I haven't heard these were not in online, but could have missed it. They are sandwiched right before all the (Online Franchise) features so maybe these were meant to be listed as offline features.

                  -New injury presentations
                  -New Player Search feature
-Ability to hire/fire coaches in mid-season
-Notification system that keeps you connected to your team and league.
-New player contract logic that mimics real life
                  -New overall and potential formula

Re: MLB 14 The Show Blog - Online Franchise

This is getting more confusing for me, and questions arise:

                    1. Is editing potential only in offline franchise?

                    2. What is the difference between offline and online franchise regarding minor leagues?

                    3. is hiring and firing managers/coaches only in offline franchise?

Would be great if there were a fact sheet specifying the differences between offline and online franchise. Maybe I missed it, but so far I am confused!

Or we could just wait 2 more weeks until the game is released.

Not for me, I have the PS4 and more like 7 weeks.

Besides, people are making statements and I would like to know if what they say is true.

IMO, if it doesnt include a link or a direct quote from a Dev, then it didnt happen.

IMO if u play by urself theres no point to play online franchise because it doesn't sound like there will be a carryover save from year to year....ud just be waisting ur time like the old games. I really don't get y a dev can confirm or deny this....this would deter a lot of chatter IMO

Not that I know what the Dev team is doing , but one can wonder if the reason they haven't said anything is maybe they are trying to implement what they have in the on line franchise into off line. Maybe someone who knows about programming can let us know if they can still implement that at this point. Like I said just a thought that came to mind.

Its already been stated by the devs that the changes did not make it into offline. The game is out in about two weeks so the PS3 version is done by now.
