I can answer this. Daniel McCutchen,Doug Mathis,Ryan Feierabend wont be in. None of them had service time last year and Mathis hasn't been in the bigs since 2010. Wilson and Mikolas, and Burns will be in all had ML time last season.

Do you know how injuries factor in to players making the game or not? That's the one thing I've never understand about this. For example, Michael Pineda did not pitch in 2012 or 2013 but was in MLB 13. Will he be in MLB 14? Same goes for Dylan Bundy... pitched in MLs in 2012, but was injured all of 2013, so will he be in MLB 14? I just want to understand haha

        Correct. A good man!

If a player was on the 40 man roster and injured he will be in.

Pineda was an example of this last year along with guys like Victor Martinez who was injured in 2012 but was in 13 and same goes for John Lackey and Scott Sizemore etc......

As long as Bundy was still on the O's 40 man last year while injured he should be in. Same goes with Pineda as well.

I think it depends on whether or not if they were on their respective team's 40 man roster at some point that season. Could be wrong though.

Edit: The person above beat me to the punch.

I'm not sure about that, but Bundy and Pineda are both in.

Guys, I have some work to do, but I will try to answer what I can when I can. So easy to get sucked in and forget about work. Then next thing I know, I can't afford a game. lol

Just double-checked, the rosters are from the 11th.

Ah, so trying to get this straight. Once a player debuts in the Major Leagues, he's in the game. As long as he stays on a 40 man roster, he will continue to be in the game? Even if he does not play in the Major Leagues the next season? I appreciate the help, I always knew there were rules regarding who they can put in the game, I just wasn't sure what they were. Now I won't have to stress over who's in or not in upcoming iterations

As long as he makes his debut and submits his paperwork to the MLBPA that is correct he will be in the game. The only way he is stays in the game the following season from not playing is if he was on the team's 40 man roster and injured for the year if that all makes sense? Most 40 man players will play during September call ups so they'll be in the following year as long as they pitched in a game or got an at bat.

Okay that all makes sense, thanks for the help. I know the questions of "why isn't this guy in" get asked a lot on these forums, so hopefully I can help answer them now

This has been my understanding as well.

I guess what people are confused about is if a player made a debut in 2012, did play in 2013 (minor leagues so not injured) and was in MLB 13. That player may not be in MLB 14. Is this the case? I've gotten confused on all of this due to conflicting posts.

Yeah if they debuted in 2012, but only played in the minors in 2013 (non injured) and never got called up they will not be in 14.
