Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
I hear you brother. tabarnes also had some screen shots, one showing a 37 year old Albert Pujols still rated in the low 80's, which sounds about dead on considering most players of his caliber last that long in the majors.
You know I saw some different trends as well in last year's game. In a few franchises I saw guys like Trout and Miggy maintain their 99's but in most sims Trout lost his 99 quick and Miggy's went earlier but still always lasted decently long. But usually Giancarlo and Harper faded real quick.
I mean it could happen in real life but as much as I'm excited to see prospects come up, I'm just as eager to see some of these guys take runs at records. Adjusting regression will help with this, plus some guys will maintain. Like's it's been said before, a dice roll...T.K.Comment

Really?
That, from SCEA, does surprise me.
I wrote this in the PS4 forum but its worth repeating...
I have no time for the HR Cam myself and thoroughly dislike it, so if this is really the case in terms of us being forced to have it on for every HR, then colour me very disappointed.
That said, maybe the PS4 is a different kettle of fish...heres hoping.Comment

What was the point of not having QC in TSL? I'm struggling to find the logic of that move. I would much rather play TSL as opposed to random exhibition games, but not at the expense of having QC.Comment

Not necessarily a game killer for me, but that will definitely destroy some of the immersion factor in my eyes.
I'm really hoping they either patch this or there's an option to turn it off in the PS4 version.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
Wait now this is getting very confusing. I could swear I saw early in this very thread people wanting to know if it's true that the HR camera was gone from MLB 14 The Show? And now I see someone asking if it's true that you can not turn the HR camera off?
Which is it?lol
Personally I hate the HR camera and have always have it turned off since MLB 07 The Show. If it's true that you can not turn if off that would really suck for me. Also why would Sony feel that need to take the option to turn it off away other then because they can? Man I really hope I do not have to see the batters signature HR celebration camera on every no doubter now
The HR Camera takes away from the immersion factor and I do not want to 100% know that the batter hit a Home Run before the ball actually goes over the wall!!!Last edited by tnixen; 04-07-2014, 11:23 AM.Comment

Really? To each their own, everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, but that hardly seems like a game killer. I'm not a fan of it either, and have always turned it off, but it doesn't cut to that camera every single time.

I agree I would not cal it a game killer but I will say if you can not turn it off this is really disappointing news. Especially when you could always turn it off in the past. I just can not figure out why Sony would take away a simple little option like this that I know lot of us use.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
Is it possible that Sony actually removed the "HR Camera" feature from MLB 14 The Show because of the new Dynamic batting camera? So perhaps the reason you don't see an option to turn it off is because there is no HR Camera any longer? So maybe now if you want to see the batters signature HR celebration you have to use the new Dynamic batting camera?Last edited by tnixen; 04-07-2014, 11:52 AM.Comment

It's an animation trigger right? So I'd expect it to show up via replay whether you use the dynamic camera or not.Comment

I think there were also some other no doubt type animations, but I remember the face close up being the thing that ruined the HR cam for me. Seriously, why would I want to look at Dan Uggla's stupid face when there is a ball that I just spanked 430 ft into a second deck somewhere? Anyways...
I've been using the dynamic cameras exclusively this year, and I haven't really noticed what I would consider to be a HR cam shot yet. And I have crushed a ton of HRs so far as I work my way up the lower levels using dynamic difficulty.
For the most part, with the dynamic hitting camera, when you get any kind of hit(HRs included) the camera transitions nicely from your batting view into a 3rd/1st person type shot as the ball comes off the bat. Then depending on the type of hit, the camera may follow the path of the ball a little more closely.
The HR isn't all that unique when it comes to the dynamic offense cam. Some of the no doubters may resemble shots from the old HR cam, but I think it fits in line with any other type of hit from the dynamic offensive view.Last edited by Jgainsey; 04-07-2014, 12:30 PM.Now, more than everComment

last year i played with broadcast camera fielding view with the hr camera off.
you wouldnt have any homerun camera view from behind the batter, and you would also get this amazing panned back view of the whole stadium that would sometime occur on upperdeck shots.Comment

Do the catchers still react very quickly to choppers in front of them?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q&A with the Community
Has anyone noticed that it seems much easier to hit balls fairly far with the contact swing? I've been hitting home runs with contact and hitting the ball quite hard. Much harder than in the past when using contact. I'm mostly on all-star default sliders.
My RTTS player is hitting doubles off the wall and warning track shots with <30 power using contact swing. I don't remember it being that easy in the past.Comment
