Does anyone know if "quick count" works in Show Live?

I only play Show Live....so far it looks like QC is not available in Show Live.

    I hope I'm wrong.

The way it works is that it starts you on a level called Rookie+ for both hitting and pitching, then updates every half inning and gives you feedback in the form of + or -'s. For example if you have two big offensive innings in a row you'll likely have two plusses when the third starts. I would assume that when you have enough plusses or minuses either way, it will adjust the actual difficulty level. As I said, that's not particularly easy to do. I had a big 2nd and third inning at the plate, but by the 7th I've cooled off and back to no progress either way. It's going to probably take me a while to get off Rookie + with the way this is done, but I like that it won't just boomerang back and forth because of one huge inning.

Pitching and Hitting are adjusted separately, which means you could end up on Vet hitting and Legend pitching..
Do you know if this dynamic difficulty is saved to your Universal Profile so that when you play on a different console your skill setting goes with you? Like if I use this on the Vita, will my skill level translate to the PS4 or will I have to start over with the game learning my Dynamic Difficulty?

Can anyone tell me where I can find the new Offline Franchise additions this year? Every year there is usually a list of new additions and I didn't see one this time. For PS3.

Bunting in video games, in my opinion, probably have a 99% success rate from a human control perspective. This, however, is so unrealistic. The pitcher coming up with a QC of 2-2 forces a realistic situation that you would rarely see playing the game, but commonly see in real life. Swing away or bunt? It's a frustrating situation to be put into, but a very realistic one. Here's a chart showing sac bunt success rates. It's recently gone back up some, but you're looking at 1 out of 4, 2 out of 5 sac bunts being unsuccessful.

So while you may not like it, it forces realistic situations that you typically don't encounter and it keeps up with the goal of faster gameplay. I would actually argue not to tweak it because it keeps up with the sim aspect of the game.
It is fine that it allows for more realistic situations, but it is impossible to do so in practice because sac bunts do happen on first pitches as well. You can never successfully bunt the first pitch, which happens. A fairly high percentage of first pitches are hit into play as well. Its more realistic if you look at it from one angle, but unrealistic if you look at it from another.

I agree that bunting is too easy in the game, that should be addressed. As it is putting down a sac bunt is unrealistically easy in The Show.

Do the Orioles wear the correct batting helmets when playing at home (with the white panel on the front instead of all black)? I saw one video where they still wore the all black helmets at home, but then in the Little Things video that Sony released today there are multiple shots of the Orioles playing at home and wearing the correct helmet. Not sure why two different videos are different.

I don't know about going cross platform as I don't think you can save profiles to the cloud. But DD does carry across modes on the same console, you just have to make sure you have your profile loaded. DD is a "difficulty" setting in the user settings (seperately for both pitching and hitting, meaning you can use it for one or the other, both, or none if you wish) that saves along with your profile.

So are you thinking my DD settings won't stick with me when I upgrade to the PS4?

This is quoted directly from Ramone Russell in the online franchise blog.

"We see there have been lots of questions regarding what is and isn’t included in the offline portion of Franchise mode. While the majority of what’s posted in the blog is exclusive to online Franchise, we were able to make a good amount of improvements to the offline portion as well.

                    Those improvements are as follows:
                    • Hire and fire coaches at any point in the season
                    • Editable Player Potentials
                    • CPU draft logic improvements to have them draft mainly based on the Scouted Potential
                    • Simulator stat improvements to address stats ballooning in subsequent years
                    • Refined player generation logic
                    • Improved player Overall formula to help separate truly elite players from the pack
                    • Player regression has been improved to slow down the amount older players will decline
                    • Player salary logic improvements to keep them more in line with real-life (minor league players will garner salaries more reflective of the minors)
                    • Budget logic changes to provide better year-to-year adjustments based on performance
                    • NEW Player Search screen with the ability to initiate a trade from the search results
                    • NEW Player Lock feature availability
                    • NEW Notification system to keep you better informed with events around the league, and within your organization"

I don't want to answer this without knowing for sure, but I can actually sort of try it by loading a cloud-saved franchise onto my Vita version. It's still downloading though, and won't be done for a while.

I'd say if by some chance the user settings profile (this is different from universal profile) carries across to the Vita, then it might work. I'm pretty sure those don't though.

Please let us know! And thanks for everything, Bcruise.

Hopefully it somehow attaches to the Franchise file itself. Though I agree that it probably won't.

Bummer for those hoping to bounce between systems. Especially the Vita owners. Would be a real shame to use DD on the PS3 and get to Veteran+, for example, only to end up at Rookie again on the Vita.

                        Again, hopefully I'm (we're) wrong.

Otherwise, I'd guess you'd need to build up your profile on both systems. But then again, with the smaller Vita screen, it would be cool to see if you were a "Legend" hitter on the console, and a "Rookie+" on the handheld! LOL! You know, thanks to playing on a bumpy train ride and what not!

Actually, I fully expect to land on a different difficulty on the Vita. Just from my experience with the past Vita versions, I've always found it more difficult to hit on there. Whether because of the 30 FPS or the smaller analog stick, I've never been as good at this game on the Vita.
