I just had Kelly dive back into first. A prompt came up saying he had an injury...could be anything from a deep bruise to a broken bone..pretty cool.

Re-recording my first game on my channel right now (recording will be available later on Youtube, it's just easier to do this on Twitch first). Get comfortable, it's 1:51 long and I'm running the whole thing!

A few points:

No walks for me at the plate. This is a bit unusual for me, and I think it's a byproduct of Dynamic Difficulty starting at Rookie+. I expect this will get better once I'm able to move up - The CPU picks corners more at the higher difficulties.

I made a few of what I would call "rust" plays. It's been a while and I screwed up a few plays in the field. Nobody's perfect!

Pulse Pitching, API on: Not options I usually use, but I just wanted to keep everything at the experienced default setting except DD.

Think I had it easy on Rookie? Think again.

Can anyone confirm that base runners will lead and steal with Auto Baserunning? It's all I ever use.

It definitely didn't go like I expected, at least I won but it was close! CPU wasn't chasing much early on and mashing Shark's inaccurate pitches. CPU also threw plenty of balls too, even if it didn't walk me.

It's not going to be easy to get the OPS needed consistently to move up (or down) in difficulty (OPS is what it bases progress on, so says the in-game strategy guide). I like your idea of doing it in Spring Training - that seems like a good way of learning your team and your ideal difficulty at the same time.

That's exactly what I plan on doing.

The difficulty mode will have 20 or so games to assess me. Hopefully it will get me to a place I feel better about before then so I can simulate to Opening Day though.

This is one of the unfortunate downsides to Rookie and Veteran being a little too strike happy. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of DD so I'm all in.

Wanted to use QC's exclusively this year. But I still wonder how my DD assessments would be impacted by that? If it's just OPS. then maybe not too much? Hard to say depending on the counts I'm given.

Guess I'll find out later!

Or I'll just play full games and switch to QC's once/if I advance to All-Star or something. Not sure yet and I start playing in like 30 minutes! Decisions decisions!

Same here. But it looks like when its on auto you can not manually steal. I have tried and stealing only works when you are controlling the runners.
