Went into SAFE MODE, selected Restore the PS3 (5, I think). Re-downloaded the game (this time it installed automatically) and everything is working great.

Restore will delete all existing data, so backup any save files you might have.

Just a thought. With such a large file (20+gb) you really want to use the ethernet cable if possible. You also want to try to have as much free network as you can. So if you can dl at night when no one is surfing the web or streaming netflix or whatever it helps.

Also, I was trying to Dl and install on both my ps3's at the same time. This was corrupting them every time. I did it twice ( 4 dl's total) before I had the brilliant thought to do them one at a time. They worked first time off. bit of a pain this way but it gets it done.

Hope any of this helps someone, I was fuming yesterday waiting for dl;s just to see them corrupted. Took a day off work, woke up at 6 to what I thought would be a fully dl'd and installed gamed and didn't get to start playing till 3pm. The game is great though! Gl to you all having issues.

Tried the format, didn't work. Tried the wired connection, didn't work. I haven't been doing anything heavy on the network aside from the download, and it still corrupts. It even downloads quickly, so I can't figure out what the problem is. I'm just gonna get a refund and buy the disc I guess..

Man, thats brutal. Sorry you couldn't get any help.

another quick thought. I don't know what your connection speed is but this is a huge download. if your connection is spotty or just not very fast that could be the issue. if you have a family member or a friend with a good connection maybe you could Dl it there. Just an idea.

Holy ****, I thought I was the only one, lol.

I know it's not my connection speed (I have 50Mbps download, 25 up), and I downloaded the game over night, and then again this morning...so I know there was no other traffic on my network.

I chatted with Sony online - twice, and called them twice...nothing works. I rebuilt the database, I did a power cycle, etc.

After the last call, all of the good will the girl on the phone built up with that sweet *** southern accent, was demolished when she sent an email to my inbox with links to "Playstation Support - Connecting your Playstation3 Online"

I'm like....I've had a PS3 since day one, what is this nonsense?

I don't wanna go the refund route...but I might have to.

A rep. was talking to me the same way. I haven't bought a physical copy of a game in almost 2 years. No joke. I have so many games on my account it's crazy but that means nothing to them. They have a stock response list and they just move you along. I really hope you guys get it all figured out.

I contacted Sony for the 5th, and final time about this.

I explained the situation, and just mentioned that I'm not even looking for a full refund, but instead, just for the amount I paid to be put back into the wallet, and I'll buy the game for the PS4.

The guy was kind of sympathetic and was talking about how it sounds like a file is not being downloaded, and it's showing as corrupted since that file is missing during the installation. Which could actually be legit, but I dunno...

So he said he's putting in for a refund, and he's explaining the situation in the refund request, and I should (we'll see) get my refund to the wallet, so I can pre-order it on the PS4.

I think I'm gonna grab the physical copy to hold me over, then sell that when it drops for the PS4.

So, to the folks going thru the same situation, call Playstation Support, press "2" for Playstation Network assistance, and be as detailed as you can. Make sure you give them the error code, and let them know what steps you took to resolve the issue. You MIGHT be able to get a refund (most likely to the PSN wallet.)

WOW!! that is terrible I feel for you guys who are having problems, reminds me of the gta 5 fiasco. however this one of the many reasons I will not go digital when it comes to games, music or movies. but I also like having a physical copy in my hands

totally bs!i went to sleep downloading again for the 6th time to wake up to still see corrupted data on the install wtf all i want to do is play this game..i got god of war ascension from the psn store thats 37gb an had no problem downloading or installing but this game at 21 gb is fn wit me..y doesnt anyone hear us an respond to this problem bc i cant get this disc bc my disc drive doesnt work in my ps3 anymore

everyone thats having this problem follow this link an sign in on the website using ur psn name an scroll to download error code 80029564 an vote on it so they know how many people r really having a problem with this....bc i dont see all of us havin faulty ps3's it has to be the file in the downloads thats fn wit us

well the problem still not fixed but they are working on it they are askin wut internet service provider u have im guessing verizon fios is going to be the commin factor in this matter..its really annoying
