    Are check swings broken?

I have only played a game and a half so far but something seems wrong with check swings. They always say I go around yet when viewing the replay I dont even come close to going around. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

This game seems to have it as a dice roll, independent of what is visually on screen. Two years ago I decided to finally turn off appeals. I had enough of them haha.

You'll feel so much better when you turn them off!

I'm new to the Show, but the recent trend in the MLB is that anything close is called a strike. Even heard Ron Darling mention it during a spring training telecast, and I can't disagree. Maybe it's the game trying to be true to life?

I actually thought it was better done this year. I actually was able to check a pitch after I had hit the power button, and Im not sure that ever happen in the past when I used power button. I am a analog guy, so Im sure that makes it easier than people who use buttons to hit, or I would think it would anyway.

I noticed it's slightly more dangerous to check-swing than it used to be. I'm sure we'll get used to the new feel of it after a number of games.

I don't have problems either with check swings. I feel that the calls so far are fair. I also don't mind the occasionaly umpire fault judge of a check swing. Umpires are part of the game. They make mistakes too. That's how I see it.

I have not seen any problem with them either. I've been able to stop a couple and not stop on a couple, seems good to me.

Of course, sometimes you do go around and sometimes you don't. But when you legitimately (even accidentally) give the slightest, softest, quickest tap on the button and the batter doesn't even seem to visually go around and they say you do, it's kind of unnerving. That's why I ultimately just turned them off.

I have never had that problem.

It happened enough for me in MLB 11 or 12 (can't remember) that I just had enough with it. I'm a happier man now.

Yep exactly right somtimes I have been lucky when I have gone around and got away with it, and somethings I am unlucky. it happens in real life. happens in the game adds realism

I've noticed a mix bag although I've been hit a few times of letting off the button well before he even started his swing and the pitch being outside, yet it is called a strike. It was frustrating, but you can't argue with a digital umpire.
