Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

What proportion of games do you guys play versus sim? I've always struggled with that as I tend to want to play the majority of the games as I like the stats to mostly reflect my own play (especially hate it when I sim a game and the CPU trashes a pitcher's ERA). But because of that I never get much further than a single season, which sucks. Will definitely be using QCs some, but prefer to play normally most of the time. I think I'll have to come to terms with simming more with this year's game.

I've seen the "sim 5, play 1" method mentioned--is there reasoning behind this particular ratio?

Play 1 sim 5 exists so u get to use every pitcher but get through the season fast, personnally I want to be able to play the majority of my games so I play the first and last game of every series, maybe more if there's an awesome pitcher matchup or something I wouldn't be playing.

Also I was wondering how fast players decline this year, I know in the past it's been ridiculously fast

I have taken 2 of the first 3 games against the giants I am now 32-20 ever since I've moved junior lake to the 6th spot in lineup he's been on fire I am red hot am 19-6 in May and hector rondon has been terrific out of the bullpen 30.1 innings pitched a 1.78 era and 32 strikeouts pretty good for a guy at 65 overall

The cubs are very fun to play with I created some of their top prospects probly won't bring them up till next year though

I'm awesome with samardjiza but I am putting him on the trading block see if I can get a couple good young pitchers in return he is 5-4 woth a 3.41 era I was like 0-3 with a5 plus era so I don't know I'm in it to win it but if I can make a fair deal to help with future I'll do that as well loving this game

I'm currently in the NLCS against the Nats and I just had an awesome game. I'm down 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th with Crush Davis at the plate. He puts a first pitch slider into the second deck of right field to tie the game at 2-2. Then in the bottom of the 10th he is up again with the bases loaded and smacks a single up (for some reason they counted it as a fielders choice but it was a clean single) the middle for my first walk off win in this year's game. Rockies lead the series 3-2. The home team has won every game. On to D.C.

I usually play 1-2 games per series. Gives me a good mix of user stats plus quickness in getting through a season.

I haven't paid much attention to it overall, but I know Beltran was still an 86 or 87 after the first year, so a 3 point decline in an age 36 season seems completely reasonable and much better than before. Not sure about guys like Ortiz though, and how fast he'll drop.

What an embarrassing game that was lost to the marlins who had lost 9 in a row 11-5 gave up 5 runs in the 8th tied it in the 9th with 3 runs of my own then gave up 6 runs in the 10th

Currently I'm on May 27th of mine with the Cards. Question for anyone who can answer. The way I'm playing now is simulating in-game, so watching every game but it's CPU vs. CPU.

My question is, what is the best slider/gameplay configuration to make it stat-based outcomes for the simulation. So like if a low-rated pitcher is pitching, he doesn't get 9 Ks and a shutout, and then a great batter goes 0-5. Any ideas?

I'm 19 games into my chise' as I can't afford a ps4, yet. I've used rosters from a guy name ChrisIU10, sorry! So far i'm 12-7 with the Yankees playing on Dynamic difficulty.

I've liked it so far as some games i'm hitting the ball well and others I struggle to make it to five hits. I'm looking for a 2B/3B as Solarte and Roberts just aren't cutting it. McCann and Jeter are slumping too so I have the batting 7th/8th in the lineup.

Oh yes, I've also traded CC "B.P." Sabathia and Austin Romine for Cliff Lee, so far in 3 starts for the Yankees, Cliff Lee has given up 8 runs in 23 innings. The bulk of the 8 runs came against my first start with him when he was shelled for 7 runs in five innings against the Jays.

So far, overall, he's 2-2 with a 6.35 ERA, 2 CG's, 1 Shutout,31 hits, 3 BBs, 15 SOs and a 1.50 Whip.My last two outs have been great with him 18 innings of 1 run ball. Haven't had a whole lot of run support, but it hasn't been needed when I start him.
