Re: MLB 14 The Show Patch 1.11 Available Now - Details Included
Longest AB I saw in my first QC game was a 9 pitch AB by Corey Hart (including the generated count). That's quite a bit better than before and it did help keep the total counts on both pitchers to much more reasonable levels. I think both threw around 100 pitches in a close game before getting pulled.
Those 1-1, 2-1 counts definitely make a difference. Might still be a few too many foul balls for my liking, but the earlier counts do counterbalance it somewhat.Comment

Can confirm that "Out of Play" still appears after thrown balls leave the field of play, like it should. Thanks Pirates.
Still haven't seen it after a foul ball, and I've seen a bunch of fouls.Comment

I'm doing baserunning in RTTS and I'm using R1 and L1 instead of analog. I can lead off but it will not allow me to run to steal. Usually the diamond on the screen will draw green line indicator from 1st to 2nd but in this case I can't go. I found this out in the baserunning drill, I seriously just sat there at 15 attempts for about 10 minutes.
Anyone have a solution?Comment

The MLB The Show developers should know by now that most of the die hard gamers here do not like seeing the Home Run Camera. Why in the would Sony think it was a good idea to take away the option to turn off the Home Run Camera? One of the first things I always do when setting up MLB The Show for the first time is turn off the Home Run Camera and now this wonderful option is gone!
Please Sony bring back the option to turn off the Home Run Camera to MLB 14 The Show!!!
When a batter hits a deep fly ball I do not want to know instantly that the ball is leaving the park!Last edited by tnixen; 04-23-2014, 12:53 PM.Comment

I am sorry but this is such a big disappointment!

Just a note, I only saw two no doubters.
I'll keep testing.
But i agree, i don't see the point in taking it away. I am sure they admit they messed up.Comment

Got a little better look at the QC endgame in my 2nd game. Samardzija threw 125 pitches before being pulled with runners on in a 3 run game in the 8th. I don't know what his stamina was seeing as it's a CPU game, but it seemed like kind of a late hook. Still 125 is reasonable IMO, although I wouldn't want it to go much higher than that.Comment

I believe that if you have auto base running that the players will not steal on their own, you control lead offs and steals yourself. That is how it was last year and I believe is what they reverted to.
I did a little test with jacking the CPU offense sliders and throwing meatballs to check the HR Cam and even on non-monster shots I am still seeing the HR Celebration camera more than I'd want. Ramone said it was scaled back to 25% I believe but it still seems to be 3 of every 4. I know that for no doubters it will still show it, I am not sure what the threshold is between a no doubter and a normal HR maybe all of the HRs I saw hit were the prior. It will take some more playing to tell if it's any different.
The more I play the more pickoffs bother me. I compare it to the real life game and I just don't see what happens in the game happening on TV. Speed guys in real life are able to take a big lead without the risk of being picked off. It is like a cat and mouse game that doesnt exist in The Show. In The Show if you take even a small 1 step extra lead you get nailed. I have to use Eric Young Jr the same as I use Daniel Murphy on the bases in terms of leads, it's just weird. I feel the Steal ability and/or speed ratings should have more of an impact on whether the base runner gets picked off with a lead. It appears as if it is irrelevant.Comment

bit busy but i am going to use my nephew as a guinea pig to test this a lot more and check back.Comment

Thanks for the info.
Honestly though I would much rather be able to turn it off completely then even just seeing it 25% of the time. In my opinion I just do not think the Home Run Camera is a good idea for a true "SIM Style" baseball game. Sure for an 'Arcade" baseball game the Home Run Camera would be fine but not for us "SIM" players.
Most likely it's too late to bring back the option to completely turn off the Home Run Camera for 14. But I really hope it will be back for 15Last edited by tnixen; 04-23-2014, 01:08 PM.Comment
