If you really think Monster Cable is different than normal component cables, then you really have been sucked in to hype. I have had both normal cables and monster... if your eye can notice the difference, then you by far have better eyes than me.

Now talking monster component cables against the normal composite PS2 hook ups of course is going to look better through the Monster cables. But take normal component cables and then hook up Monster and if you can notice the difference, you have some great vision.

I'm not trying to argue with you, just stating what I thought when I read it and that I thought the GB guy was also being rude.

EG's right... monster cables are overpriced and don't provide much of an upgrade from NORMAL component cables, even the official PS2 ones...

I for one am impressed. Once my wife and I buy our home, I am looking to get a setup like yours.

In all seriousness, and this is really off topic, what are you impressed about? For Keirik's sake, he never did say what type of TV or set up he has, just that he has monster cables. He could have a 13" Sanyo with a boombox for all you know!

Then i saw gran turismo 4 with the normal cable vs the monster ones. There was a very obvious difference and it was the first time i have seen that difference. Of course the monster uses a s-video while the cables that come with the ps2 and just standard AV cables.
For my xbox, i don't use monster because i think they too are overrated (got my ps2 first and assumed cables by monster were better than any other s-vid cables, then xbox a year later so i had given up on the hype by that time). I just use component cables from home depot and the hd pack.

And again, not trying to impress by having a monster of a cable.

All good, but FYI, if you are using S-Video for your PS2, you did not see Gran Turismo 4 in 1080i. Get the Sony component cables, and then you'll really be drooling if you thought it was beautiful with S-Video. You'll see about 3 times more the resolution.
