Back in March I posted a thread about my findings on exporting textures from MLB 09. While it was an exciting discovery for me, I'm ultimately at a dead end now. The program I used is able to export textures/models from RPCS3, but there is no way to import them back into the game directly. My ultimate goal is finding a way to explore the inner files of the game to find out what all is able to be modded (textures/models/animations/etc.). As you can see in the picture, The Show stores all off its data in a very large (11 gb!) .WAD file. I've been searching far and wide for anyone with knowledge on this file type and unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be tools/scripts out there able to extract the contents. All I've seen is a tool for God of War, which also uses WAD. This makes sense since it's a Sony game, but none of those tools work (I assume they use different encryptions). It seems to be heavily encrypted, so obviously Sony didn't want anyone messing with this (just my luck lol). This is where I'm hoping the community might be able to help out. I'm searching for anyone waaaay smarter than I am that has any experience with coding/quickbms or anything that might get this project going in the right direction again. And with projects like CFB Revamped, I know there are many smart people in the sports gaming community. Ultimately, I'm not looking to completely overhaul the game (yet); 09 remains one of my favorite baseball games ever as is. As of now, I'm just looking to extract all of the data out and see what can be done. If you happen to come across this and have any interest in helping or know someone who can, please let me know!

Re: MLB 09 The Show PS3 Modding; Help Needed!
I remember . WAD files being a popular compression format in many games especially PS2 and PS3. Many versions of DOOM and Half - Life use .WAD files. There was also a program called PS3 Extractor that may have done it. Maybe that is a lead somewhere.

Re: MLB 09 The Show PS3 Modding Help Inquiry
In the spring I went on a search for this as well… did no have much luck. I did a lot of texture work on NCAA 14 and would be down to help mod this game, unfortunately I also couldn’t get past this step. Any help appreciated friends!halosheaven.comComment
