I haven't seen Bench's stance in game, but it looked good on the player editor.

Re: Player Edits (Equipment, #'s, Stances, ect.)
Atleast we will only have to do this for minor leaguers, pitchers, and lesser known guys this year as batting stance guy is doing Mocap for 09 which you all probably know. Also, I've seen all this stuff about hidden stances, but how do you get them?Comment

Hmmm...you know what? I'm not going to be convinced until I see and go through them myself.
I get them, overwhelmingly most of them off of mlb.com. I bring up a particular player, either watch a featured highlight clip...or go to a particular game he played to get a lot more info (pitchers mainly).
For batters and pitchers, once I have their stance on this laptop, I put it on pause. Then I go to the PS3 and take a ficticious player, swivel him around with the editor to the EXACT view that I'm watching on the laptop and go from there. For pitchers, I'm looking for the same indicators along the way with his delivery: hand/glove position before delivery, glove arm movement in delivery, type of kick, and follow through. Sometimes it's neccessary to use a timer to compare his real-life delivery with the delivery I'm trying to assing on the PS3.
For batters: hand/bat position, any bat/body movement, head position
in a lot lesser situations, I go to youtube.com.

Re: Player Edits (Equipment, #'s, Stances, ect.)
I still don't think Dunn is right for Mather. Mather stance was a little more wide. It was also more open and crouched, and the bat position with Dunn is wrong. I saw one I liked, but it was playing against the Rockies with Clint Barmes on Knight's final roster of the year and it's not generic one or barmes's game stance but it says it is generic one.Comment

@ RedBirdFan18
watch his clip on mlb.com
and then you come up with your choice
I'll be VERY interested in your selection...let's see if you are on top of not only your game, but THE game
fair enough?

Im not calling you out or anything, im just making an observation considering im extremely skeptical about the cardinals batting stances. The Cano stance you recommended for Yadi was very good though, espicially since Yadi's stance is hard to pin down considering it changes constintely.Comment

Re: Player Edits (Equipment, #'s, Stances, ect.)
Well, after seeing a post a few pages back by another member and looking at a video of mather and looking at Hunter Pence's in game stance from a front view {i went to Pence's because that it was the other member suggested} I have decided Pence's fits Mather's the best due to the leg positioning and suc but the bat movement isn't on but Pence's was the best one I saw.Comment

I see
well I'll say this...you SHOULD BE extremely skeptical with all of the generic stances and deliveries assigned. Not sure how many of these will be in the '09 version.
This work that I and a few others on here do has NOTHING to do with one fan's team or another, but it has EVERYTHING to do with the bottom line: getting it right. In the final analysis, that's the only thing that matters.

I know, im just not sure how we got into this thing after me mentioning only having to do minor leaguers, pitchers, and lesser known players for 09 because batting stance guy is doing the mo cap. Oh, and keep up the excellent work.Comment

But if you haven't seen batting stance guy, you should check him out, his stances are pretty accurate, {though he goofs off at the the end of a stance}Comment

@ RedBirdFan18
I saw him last week on the new cable channel: MLB Network
YES, he's pretty good when he keeps it to the stance and follow through only. The fooling around must be to appease a segment of the population, because to me, he looks like a fool...
IF...and I repeat, IF...he did any mo-cap for The Show '08, then and I am sure that his fooling around had translated into why so many of the stances were wrong in The Show 08.
but once he's does that stupid fooling around...he loses all creow

Oh crap I jsut realized i had a typo. He's doing mocap for 09, i guess i accidentley put that he did it for 08. Sorry about that. And i don't think SCEA will let him do the goofy, fooling around stuff, so they should all be pretty accurate.Comment

I know im supposed to look back, but it's difficult when the thread is 93 pages long, so what are the suggested stances for Andruw Jones and Shin-Soo Choo?Comment
