I haven't looked through the stances but from what I can remember.. looks like it's a good one.. heck if Rod agrees.. then u got it good since he doesn't seem to agree on lots of suggestion lol but again I don't blame him.. there are quite a bit of odd ones.

            @ JaFFiTh

            LOL!

Strut is right on with this one.....

            regarding the other nominees LOL

            Pierre--I won't go there

Sanchez--not bad, but not crouched down far enough; limited bat movement

            W. Aybar would have been THE choice, if there was no Butler

Thanks for all the edits guys. I appreciate the hard work.

Do you guys happen to have any stances for NL pitchers? I'd really like to try and get the stances for all the starters for all the NL teams. I'm gonna start looking at videos and see what I can come up with. Anything to help.

                Yamaico rating

Quick question, where do you get a set of ratings for guys not in game, not in scea update, nor in o.s. full minors set? Particularly Yamaico Navarro..thanks for the help

All I'll say is, SOME of what I use is:

                  baseball-reference.com

                  and minorleaguesplits.com

for the rest...you're on ya own:wink:

                    Re: BATTING STANCE/PITCHING DELIVERY THREAD

been checking this thread now and then, thanks rod thanks for all your work/suggestions!

I wasn't sure reading the previous pages on who strut and you agreed on Billy Butler stance being good for, was it Juan Pierre?

What do you guys think of Ramon Hernandez' stance for Jose Bautista? (Hernandez needs another one, perhaps gen 17)

Thanks for whoever on the site suggested Kouzmanoff stance for Kelly Johnson, gen74 for Alex Rios, gen79 for Fowler, and J.Reyes stance for Delmon Young, all spot on!

looking in the stances for some that would fit Andre Ethier better...

That's actually the stance I'm leaning toward for Bautista (being a Jays fan). the way he holds the bat is pretty close, crouched, and even has a somewhat high leg kick (just noticed that in a CPU vs CPU game I was watching earlier)

There are actually quite a bit that is pretty close but this one has sold me I think. We'll see what Roddy thinks.

                          KENLEY JANSEN-RP/C (Dodgers)

                          Kenley Jansen:

                          delivery: Olsen

                          stance: Hunter is about right

he's only been pitching for about a year...
as some of you all know, he was the catcher for The Nederlands WBC team...

his main batting splits for 2009 for the Dodgers Hi-A team:

                          ConR 61
                          ConL 22

                          PwR 15

                            Spot on? not really....

                            here we go.....

BAUTISTA: I have been using McGehee's stance. I like the fact that the hands are up a tad bit higher than Hernandez' stance. Hernandez' is fine, considering the limited choices though.

JOHNSON: His stance in real life is CLOSED. Kouz's stance isn't. I've been using generic 101

RIOS: I like your suggestion, gen 74; I had been using his own

FOWLER: gen 79 quite simply has too much movement...aka that over-stated BSG stuff

I was using B.J.Upton's, but decided to scroll through them all. And guess what? Hanley Ramirez' will do just fine
(switch hitters...from the LEFT SIDE ONLY FOLKS!)

DELMON YOUNG: Reyes? No way...angle/hand too low. I'm staying with what I had all along: Gen 76

Rod_Carew29, you got a stance suggestion for Aaron Hill? Had been thinking about David Wright or Jonny Gomes for him.

Also, I'm beginning to think Jim Thome for Ian Stewart and Bobby Crosby for Jason Heyward.
