TORONTO BLUE JAYS ROSTER EDITS
I am done for now, with the 25 players on the Blue Jays roster--my tentative set roster as of now, for Opening Day. I'm only posting the most important changes/updates or those that I deem most neccessary.
Drag Bunters:
NONE of the pitchers---starters, relievers or closers should have any attribute points here. And yes, ratings are affected.
The Powerless
Joe Inglett-ZERO from both sides
The ALMOST Powerless
Lyle Overbay-zero power from the left side
Aaron Hill-zero power from the left side; 15 power from the right side
Marco Scutaro-zero power from the right side
Marty Barrett-zero power from the right side
John McDonald-zero power from the right side; 15 power from the left side
Better Looking Stances ***
Lyle Overbay-Luis Gonzalez ***
Aaron Hill-Kenji Johjima ***
Scott Rolen-David Eckstein
Rod Barajas-Dustin Mohr ***
Travis Snider-Mike Napoli
Vernon Wells-Hideki Matsui (some were making things real complicated looking for his stance...what's the fuss? Try it, you won't complain)
Adam Lind-Adam Lind or Shelly Duncan
Jose Bautista- Clete Thomas
Kevin Millar-Eric Chavez (someone suggested Ryan Theriot--which is not bad at all. I went with Chavez because the hands are closer to her had and he is in more of a crouch)
Joe Inglett-Kenny Lofton (this is wayyyyyyy better than some of the other options I saw as suggestions...some of which were not even in the ballpark). There were two I believe, that were close as could be expected (McCracken was one choice), but as I mentioned lately, for those of us who do this, we look for different things. I'm sure my 'benchmarks' ain't the same as most of you guys'. Inglett's stance is so twisted/unique, HE out of all, should have his own stance in the game.
*** others' suggestions
Better Looking Deliveries ***
Roy Halladay-Jim Johnson ***
David Purcey-Aaron Laffey
Ricky Romero-Rafael Perez
B.J. Ryan-Jeremy Accardo (why not his? See the line below this one)
Brandon League-B.J. Ryan (his follow through; falling to the first base side of the mound, as well as the hand position at the set, is damn near perfect. Accardo works for Ryan because his hands are at the head on set too, but he really doesn't fall hard towards third). I love it, played an exhibition game this morning with it, and I ain't changing it.
Scott Downs-Billy Wagner
Jesse Carlson-Mike Gonzalez
Brian Tallet-Zach Duke
Jason Frasor-Octavio Dotel
Shawn Camp-Octavio Dotel. Shawn pitches from a low 3/4, borderline sidearm angle, but his finish is almost upright in front of the mound. Remember what I told you all about 'benchmarks'? Well, that was the deal breaker for me.
*** others' suggestions
Miscellaneous
Scott Rolen- I dropped his arm strength to 80. Which is still plenty strong, but at 95 or wherever it was, along with his physical ailments, I sure didn't see it in some of his long-throw clips from 2008
I also dropped his speed to 40 (have you ever saw him run)? Rolen is an EXCELLENT baserunner, but he is NOT a speed demon.
Positions
Scott Rolen-3B ONLY! What do we keep seeing this silly notion that he also plays first? Look it up!
Rod Barajas-C/1B
Travis Snider-LF/RF
Vernon Wells-CF only
Alex Rios-RF/CF
Jose Bautista-RF/1B-3B
Kevin Millar-1B (for this season, I'm not playing him in the outfield at all; although I know he can)
Joe Inglett-3B/2B-SS (I know he's listed as RF, which he can play. However, by having RF as the primary position, you're kept from ACCURATELY including him playing 3 out of the 4 infield spots. He does not play first, so that's why I went with what I have. This makes the CPU interactions/substitutions more real. Besides there are 5 guys (6 if you want Millar) who play the OF, that's fine for me.

Rick Porcello-SP (Tigers)
Rick Porcello
I had his delivery as Haren's last year...which is probably a little slow. I'm not sure what's good with 2009's deliveries.
Anyway, the following are the updated items to reflect his 2008 season with the Tigers' High-A affiliate:
H/9-69
HR/9-99
K/9-50
BB/9-65
stamina-62
pitching clutch-80
durability-85
arm accuracy-50
reaction-30
fielding-10For 2017...

Re:
for now...honestly...I dont know what I'll do with him...havent gotten to doing Texas yet, and if I do, I'm not sure I'll be carrying him on the 25 man roster....
as you know, most of the stances have changed this year...some drastically....

Great, I'm gonna check some of that out. Interesting on Ryan using accardo's... I kinda can see that from what I've seen in the game. Some batting stances.. I'm not too sure.. especially Wells using Matsui.. matsui holds his bat away from him unlikely wells.. he taps it on his shoulder slightly. I might disagree with that one but the rest.. I'll have to give it a look. Eventhough I'd have to write it down as my fiancee took the laptop to Toronto.. damn her! lolComment

@ JaFFiTh
LOL
We gotta put out an APB on your girlfriend....LOL
The Vernon Wells stance was probably the most interesting. As you know for too long, they can never get his stance not only right...but close to being right.
I watched a couple of his AB's from September..fromt he centerfield view, not from the side...and I said, "I'll be damned"...Hideki Matsui's had position (low/close to stomach) and slight knee bend mirrored Wells almost perfectly....
last year's version of Hideki Matsui wouldn't have worked though
