Re: @ Goose158
Now I havent seen him since ST, but comparing the two stances:
leg positioning: about the same-slightly closed
hand/bat positioning: Rivera-hands at helmet height; Wood-hands at neck height
I remember Weiter having excess bat movement, Rivera's is not so excessive....
Wood-more upright
Rivera-slighty hunched over

@ Goose158
remember one thing..when i do stances for switch-hitters, I only take the stance from the left side of the plate...maybe that is what is in effect here....
Yeah I think it's a question of too much bat movement with Wood vs. less bat movement with Rivera, however the footage that I viewed showed Wieters slightly crouched and not as straight up like Wood. As always I respect your opinions and when there is a stance that you recommend over others picks, I usually default to you. I think that Rivera's would be the correct stance for Wieters and just thought I would have you take a look at it.For 2017...

@ Monroe10
and I'll say it one mo time...
that's from the RIGHT HANDED SIDE of the batter's box....and that's fine
Personally, I always go with the LEFT SIDE since that is the side where a F/T player will get the most AB's:wink:
I think im gonna use Felix Pie for Wieters. It looks pretty good from this video:

@ decga
what's up? No offense, but some of you guys with this 'spot on' stuff ...ya gotta stop the madness...LOL
I'm gonna be serious here:
Last I saw, Longoria's bat either touches/rests on his shoulder or.....it's at a fairly low angle..and he's a little open in his stance
Stephen Drew's stance (while open; even though I don't like the front leg positioning), has the bat too high--top-of-the-helmet-high
Originally I used Branyan, which is more like it
And then I changed to Crede as someone suggested, but Crede's stance is closed slightly
I think I'm going back to Branyan unless....
IF Longoria's stance/hand-bat positioning has changed, then I apologize...
So what's the deal?
For 2017...

Re: BATTING STANCE/PITCHING DELIVERY THREAD
Im going through possible Longoria's:
Stephen Drew (bat is held a little too high)
Cory Sullivan (too closed of a stance)
Luis Gonzalez (a little too hunched over)
Russell Branyan (a little too open?)
Joe Crede (closed stance, maybe too much bat movement?)
Out of those what do you think?
