Re: Hanging up my roster boots

Jim, you're just entering your prime. No quitting now! The temptation of music and cheer editing will draw you back into the fray.

Thanks for all the hard work for 08. The game wouldn't have been the same without you guys.

Have a drink on me, jim.

Man, I gotta tell you. There were times, and Knight will tell you, that entire days were spent in front of the monitor. I can tell you, doing the rosters were not "fun". It was tedious and "buttsoring" (new word). I'm not going to miss it, as much as I loved it.

I was doing a fair bit of my own editing last year, agonizing over player faces especially, and usually edit every game I have, so I know the sore butt feeling well.

The work you put in last year with Knight was legendary, and for free release to the community. It's fun to a point, then it becomes completely mind numbing.

Re: Hanging up my roster boots

Is this a real retiring or one of those professional athlete retiring events? You know, where once the season starts you will make an announcement you are back in action again?

Anyway, thanks for your hard work and I hope you will continue in online leagues.

I will make sure I make a welcome back post once the game comes out!

I've been doing it for years, WSB, ASB,High Heat, The Show......I have one new book in the making that I want to get published by July, and there is another possible one that I will be helping out on (I hope) involving a fellow vet. So, I'm going to be having a lot of keyboard and monitor face time this year. Add the long hours at roster editing with Knight.....I'm just looking forward to playing the game at my leisure this year.

Knight was gracious enough to let me join him last year and we had a lot of frustration and long (believe me) LONG hours put into the final product. Pull out your hair long hours. Although in the end very rewarding to help out.

Letting everybody know now because I know Knight needs to make plans for the upcoming release.

I'm sure he'll probably be looking for a strong #2 who can fend off all the "are they done yet" questions, lol, but go easy on the guy. Knight has this down to a fine science, but he still calls on all you guys for help. There is no more a dedicated roster man than MK.

Treat him good, or I will personally hunt down ever last one of you.

The Show is going to be absolutely the dream we've waited for. It's going to be a treat to see what he puts together this year, and I know I/we won't be disappointed.
Thanks Jimbo, I know this rosters were depending on you @ Mr Knight for the outcome for the new Gm. You know me Jimbo, what ever I start I finish, so If Mr. Knight needs any Help, please tell him Iam hear to help, any way I can. Good luck on your new adventure with the book. Hop!!

Nah, Nem, Scotts even playing military taps for me, lol. Oh, the drama. Just way to much face time with my computer monitor coming up. If I wasn't trying to finish a book and helping with another I'd be in there, perhaps. Hey......you're young...........

Thanks Jim. You have done a great job.

Knight if you need help I have no problems. I am particularly good with the face editor and tweaking attributes so the season numbers reflect reality. As well as giving pitchers the right motion and repitoire

But rosters should be easier to do this year because you can upload and download like we did with sliders...so you could end up with LOTS of help
