Will this work on the PS2, too? I know all of the player stats are screwed up after I loaded up the official roster using my max drive.

Re: Workaround to load rosters without historical stats glitch
Yep, you're right...the SCEA 23/3 roster update has now scuppered this workaround...the good news is that loading the SCEA roster is fine or an edited version of it (23/3), but the bad news is that any other roster - like Knight's fine update, is scuppered as far as the historical stats go.
It's got to be a player indexing problem, with players taking on the stats of other players in the game...maybe there are two files, the player file and the historical stat file - and the player ids in each don't match - must be something like that.
SCEA were aware of this so I'm sure they will be looking into it and fixing it. If you need the historical stats + the lineup fix then the only way to go is to go about editing the roster ourselves I'm afraid...unless Knight bases his fixes/minors roster on the 23/3 update - but I'm sure he'll be too far down the road for that now.Dedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment

Re: Workaround to load rosters without historical stats glitch
Anyone know if the 3/23 roster update also fixed the CPU line-up logic bug that happens during the season ??
Example:: Helton batting 1st...... Soriano batting 3rdComment

Nope, I've just sat and done some edits myself to try and cure it this afternoon (based on Knight's ratings)Dedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment

Re: Workaround to load rosters without historical stats glitch
Ninjoid, can you just load an older SCEA roster (like the last one before this new one) instead of going online for the workaround?
If so, this would be a workaround to allow Knights rosters to still work with historical stats.
Also, another idea I had was to delete all of your MLB The Show files (if you loaded the newest SCEA roster), but save an older SCEA roster on a memory stick, then load that first before Knights. Maybe that won't work because you have to go online for the workaround? Maybe it was going online that fixed the registry?
Hope you follow my logic, it's been a loong day.Comment

Re: Workaround to load rosters without historical stats glitch
I'll give it a go and see what gives - but I think the important part is when you go online and it says "Applying roster update"...that's the bit that seems to correct the problem...well, it did prior to the 23/3 update...the workaround does work for the official roster (from 23/3) but not Knights...but I'll give this a tryDedicated member of the CPU v CPU worldwide brethren.Comment
