Re: Knight - classic teams
It's not hard...so we're good there.
However you do need a USB flash drive....like this...
The CHEAPEST you can find...(they are around 10 bucks)...you don't need a lot of memory space on it.
I get mine off www.newegg.com.....but you can pick them up at Target...Wal-Mart...just about anywhere with an electronics section(sorry if you know all this already)..
Okay...when I give you the links...just download it to the flashdrive.
It will come in a "zipped" folder and you need to unzip it.
Use this free(download the 45 day FREE trial....when the trial runs out...delete it from your programs using the Windows add/remove programs...) then re-install it. After your second use(you "can" do this many:wink: more times...but if you're going to use it...might as well cough up the bucks)...
.......WINZIP LINK....http://www.winzip.com/prod_down.htm
Okay...sounds complicated...but it's not...trust me.
Now once you've downloaded the file from the link I provide....just double click on the zipped file...and the WinZip program will ask you where you want to put the files...keep it pointed to the flash drive(usually the D...and you will get a PS3 folder.
You can now delete or move the zipped file from the drive.
Put the USB drive in your PS3...
Go to the XMB(the screen you see when there is no game in and you start the machine or when you press the PS button on the controller(the round one in the middle)...
Go to the SAVED DATA UTILITY section....press X
Highlight the USB drive
Press triangle
Choose COPY
It will copy the files to the PS3 hard drive.
Now when you start the game....LOAD the roster...
You can now play exhibition games or if you start a season....just choose my file as the roster when you start.
If you have any troubles...PM me and I'll get you going with this...no problem.

Re: Knight - classic teams
What they should do is exclude the hall of famers and stuff from the normal game, then have like a 10 dollar expansion pack with a classic stadium for each team and hall of fame and team specific legeneend players and give them all original stances and stuff/Comment

Re: Knight - classic teams
Knight,
I checked out deliveries for Jack Morris and Duane Ward (I assume that's who you were referring to yesterday). Jack seemed to hold the ball behind him in his delivery more than most pitchers. Most guys either keep it in or near their glove or drop their hand straight down in their stride, but he literally kept it behind him. The best I saw when going through them all was Chris Young. That part looks pretty close. Jack also fell toward first, so take a look at Francisco Liriano, too. So Young's stride is more like Jack but Liriano's follow through matches him better. Check them both out and let me know what you think?
As for Duane Ward, definitely Billy Wagner. The leg doesn't come up quite as high as Duane's (no one does), but Billy's foot is pointed behind him just like Duane's. Most others bring their knee straight up. Check it out.
I'll be umpiring districts tonight, but hopefully I'll be able to try the Blue Jays out later.Comment

Re: Knight - classic teams
It looks a lot more complicated than it is. Knight was very generous w/ his time in a couple of Pms but it did take a little while to click in (Im not computer savvy.) I coughed up 9 bucks at wal mart for a flash drive and am using the eval winzip version. Well worth it to get a sneak preview as Knight finishes each team. Great work Knight, though i guess I should be a little pissy as you have ruined the current teams for me!
Ha...I say this in the best way....."I'm glad to hear it!"
Thank you though...I appreciate it.

Wagner sounds right....good call!
I need you stance guys as I really get lost with the A.L teams....like Alomar...I have him with an open, crouched stance....but I'm not sure.
Thanks.

Re: Knight - classic teams
Knight,
In the post where you listed the years, you put the '95 Jays.
I thought you went with '92?
And as far as the Devil Rays are concerned, my vote is for '99.
Not sure if I'm remembering Alomar's stance correctly, but what about using the same one you used for Rickey Henderson?

Knight, any chance in the future (near / far) that you would do a 1970's decade roster or say 1969 - 1977 roster.CLICK ME==> NY Jets Dynasty

GTM,
69-77 were the Mets years...
'73 and '69.
I even loved the '75 -'77 Kong Kingman Mets.
Bob Apodaca!
I hate to ask because Knight has done so much already,
But that would be fantastic.
I am excited that he chose the '77 Rangers!Comment

I did('92 Jays)....my mistake. I just copied it off my list, which I checked off....but didn't correct.
I'll try Rickey for Alomar.....I just can't remember his stance.
Did anyone play with the Jays yet?
Any suggestions comments on the motions stances?(besides Joey's..I've got that)...in particular...Carter/Olerud(I thought he came out pretty good!)...I'm pretty sure Candy Maldonado had that straight up stance....and Lee with the crouch.....Kent has his own in the game....from the looks of it Gruber looks right
Well .....let me know.
Thanks.
gtm....
I am indeed doing a 1950-1970....I guess I could go 5 years in either direction to make it a 25 year spanned set.
Storm is attempting(I say attempting meaning time...not talent....believe me I know how much of a time eater this is...but I'm "fortunate" enough to have grown kids, no life and an understanding wife!
....add that in to the fact that I absolutely MUST have some sort of hobby...or I get in all sorts of trouble....and it's the Perfect Storm
) a pre 1950 set....so we'd have most of the timeline covered!

Re: Knight - classic teams
I want realism too, but we've got to work with what we got. I'm going to be playing a season and, while some of them won't have the correct numbers, none of that will show up in the stats. I enjoy these rosters too much to not play a season with them.
