Re: Operation Sports Full Minors '09 - Discussion Thread
Suggested Blue Jays Changes
Of course, the minors stuff is great . . . but I thought I'd offer some suggestions from an avid viewers perspective.
The biggest general discrepancy versus RL stats is the Batter ranking (13th) and Overall (11th).
Travis Snider is ostensibly platooning LF with Lind, but Lind is getting alot more starts (Not due to a skill difference, more like Cito wants to acclimatise Snider a little). I have seen Cito yank Lind off the basepaths a few times in favor of Snider.
So, looking at v2, I would suggest:
Change Lind PRI POS to LF.
Huge boost to Snider's power numbers.
Fair boost to Snider's speed and BRAbil.
Snider SEC POS RF
Change Bautista's SEC POS to RF
(This will leave the minors bereft of RFs, so maybe an inaccurate switch of one of the AA or AAA to RF might be a personal choice)
Scutaro: add 2b SEC POS, bump power, lower speed
A. Hill: Change SEC POS to SS or none. bump power/hitting in general
McDonald: Is the backup SS behind Scutaro IRL. The rosters have him quite higher overall than Scutaro. IRL McD comes to the plate hoping to walk - 0 power. Flawless fielder, though. Could add 2B as SEC POS.
Barajas: Is ranked lower than Arencibia for some reason - should be adjusted.
Ricky Romero: Is lights out so far.
Millar: Is much higher on the Real Jays depth chart.
Rios: Easily the speediest player on the team.
Hope this is the right place to put such things.
Much thanks to all modder types who "fix" these things... dang it's funny now watching the "director of accuracy" commercial. Still a great series though..
Just watched the Jays beat Texas. Five series wins in a row (12-5 record).Comment

Re: Operation Sports Full Minors '09 - Discussion Thread
I just checked. He's not on Full Minors V2. I don't think he was on FM version 1 either. If you loaded from the vault, after you download it and save it, make sure you load it. Hope that helps.Comment

but the Cubs' helmets are still wrong
How do you think SCEA's stock ratings versus Knight's fixed ones will affect the gameplay?Comment

Yes, you will have to fix the Cubs helmets unless Knights non-lineup fix roster tonight has it fixed.
I think fixing it for lineups to work on the previous versions could affect some guys a little like Grady Sizemore since he would lead off in one and not lead off in another. Knight probably had to knock his power down a little and increase his speed or bunting to get him to leadoff in the previous versions. Maybe the same for Soriano. I don't know, he would know better about that. It's hard to tell unless you sim a season and just check out the stats and just play. For most minor tweaks, I don't think it will change it much, but I can't say for sure.
On the other hand, without lineup fixes, and no patch to fix it, Grady Sizemore may bat third simulated and knock in more RBIs, etc. We just need the patch to address this, imo.
I am going to play with the non-lineup fixed (SCEA stock players with Razrs pitch edits and Full minors) rosters he releases tonight (since I can't wait to start a real franchise), use a second controller to fix the lineups for teams I play against (move it back to the middle after the game starts), and hope for a patch.
By the way, I have watched the Iowa Cubs a few times at Sec Taylor Stadium in Des Moines, IA. Best food in the minors (used to be when I went there at least) (and majors almost). Very very nice stadium. Even saw the Beach Boys there once, and a Kerry Wood Rehab assignment, lol. It has won Baseball Weekly's best minors park a few times.

Anyone remember when Rod Beck lived in his RV outside of the stadium? He seemed like a good guy (rest in peace).
Don't remember the crappy Cajun beer place down town. Maybe that's newer. I haven't been to Des Moines since 2002 or 2003.Comment

Knight165). Do you mean shoot Strut a PM about posting it in the Vault? That would be great to have them in the vault.
Thanks a lot.Comment
