I prefer to play with RC on. I dislike playing with the injuries because (I'm the BoSox/Mets) if I'm playing an important series (Currently in 3rd place) agaisn't the Yanks or Rays i don't want to see A-Rod missing or Pena missing as I feel it cheapens the series. It makes it a little less realistic but doing the everyday moves more than makes up for that aspect. I enjoy plugging in the RL trades.

PS : It is beyond crazy using two teams in a franchise and very time consuming but it's rather interesting and makes the game less boring at times because it's not the same thing day in and day out.

For anyone who does this... once you set the rosters in the beginning of the year, do you go out and make every move (DL assignment, trade, call ups/downs) of every team in the major league even after that or do you just do that for your franchise team?

I do the trades for every team and arrange the rosters accordingly for each team.

          Here is how I play.

I like to simulate the 2009 season, and head right into the offseason, then begin my franchise in 2010. That allows me to not worry too much about what is going on in the current MLB, while also making the trades I want and shooting for free agents. I like to play with budgets and fair trades on, but when I go with roster control off I just keep my own budget in my head.

Last year I was a CPU roster control with injuries player. I loved being able to control the moves other teams made, while also having to contend with injuries. Without the injuries my minor leagues seem kind of useless. I would go into the first offseason and tried to make trades or sign free agents for other teams that seemed likely to happen, while also setting up my own team.

This year, I tried roster control off to get injuries, but there were a few things that didn't suit my tastes. Too many top prospects were ending up getting picked up in the Rule 5 draft or just ending up in the free agent pool (Brandon Wood, Homer Bailey, etc.) I am going to try upping the stats of the players that end up free agents, and adding some of the top prospect guys to the 40 man rosters. That may allow me to go back to Roster Control off.

I play with it off, because I like making moves and having control of the universe. Not to actually bother with real life moves, more just to be able to do my own thing. And injuries off, because the algorithms are never right.

ON only as I cant stand messed up unrealistic rosters from whats happening in the real mlb.
Maybe its because I catch alot of Ball on Tv each day .
If Mannys tearing it up on the cubs after a real trade I wanna see that in my season so thats basically it .
Maybe uts a illness but I cant stand seeing players on the wrong teams .

I definitely like roster control on mainly because of the DL problem. Injuries aren't realistic for one, and if you get 4 or 5 guys on the DL at once, which is realistic and probable almost, your AA is down to like 20 players, so you screw your AAA team by only having like 23 there and 22 in AA, pitchers would get overworked if you lose a few. That needs to be fixed. I'm fine with going in and making the real life moves for them.

Under the tab Roster Moves at the bottom of that tab you should see something that says CPU Roster Control this is what you're looking for.
