No, it doesn't. Justin Verlander, Grady Sizemore, Carlos Quinten, and a bunch of other players are still affected.

CC Sabathia does not throw a curveball. He sometimes takes some velocity off the slider to make it a tad slurvy, but he is a fastball-slider-changeup pitcher.

You can take a look at his pitch selections over the past two years here: http://pitchfx.texasleaguers.com/pit...08&to=4/4/2010

He throws a four-seamer, slider and changeup. No two-seamer, and the curveball-sinker combo accounts for just over 5% of his pitches since April 1, 2008. He is a three-pitch pitcher.

Franchise mode--the only mode this snob uses --is made playable, engrossing, and worthwhile by the time and effort of the guys responsible for the O.S. rosters. The rosters enable true engagement with the simulation, and that's made me a happier gamer and a better baseball fan.

That the strictures of MLBPA's licensing requirements limit SCEA is unfortunate. But Knight's work redeems those absurdities, and in so doing, I think, redeems the entire MLBTS franchise. Since about May 2007, I've bought four video games: MLB07, MLB08, MLB09 and MLB10. That's not an exaggeration--I wish I had more time for the console. But I'm absolutely sure that I'd quit MLBTS altogether if Knight, KSig and Ridin stopped doing their thing.

        So, thanks.

(And KSig, if you happen upon this-- AEKDB, friend.)
GCRUZ - AEKDB to you too brother. What chapter?

I'm a bit confused going back reading the posts - are the OS rosters posted yet or no? And if so, what are they called on SportsConnect?

He doesn't throw a curveball, but he definitely throws a cutter. SCEA never gives him that pitch for some reason. Also, he does mix in a 2-seamer/sinker every now and then but it's so minimal and insignificant it doesn't make sense to give it to him. I'm pretty sure if you looked at every starter in the league you'd find that they throw different variations of the fastball.

It would probably help everyone follow along with the updates as to how the rosters are doing, what's included, etc. if Knight just posted all that info in the original post rather than trying to make a post in the middle of a 170+ page thread then having it buried in a matter of moments.

                Just sayin'.

Thanks for all the hard work.

I disagree with both of you on his two-seamer. Tim McCarver talked several times during the world series about how C.C. Sabathia successfully switched from using a 4-seam to a 2-seam fastball last year. also, sabathia's mentioned it several times in interviews in the new york media recently (here's a quote from the nytimes: "Asked about his approach to Granderson, Sabathia said: “Two-seamers in to keep him honest, and then get him out away.” )

Not bashing. Merely questioning the 'are we there yet' mentality.

Furthermore, I've been a contributing member of this forum for several years, have poured countless hours into the game, and eagerly await Knights (and the rest of the teams) incredible work as much as the next.

I just don't see the point of giving the roster chaps theflurry of 'when will this be done' posts.

sabathia throws a 2 seam fastball that he developed last season and YES he does throw a curve/slurve/ whatever u want to clarify it as..the point is he should have anyof those added.and he DOES in fact use it in every start and has struck out several batters with it. u apparently dont watch many of his starts becuase he uses it all the time and the point of the post was to make sure he has more than 3 pitches becuase he obvoiusly does.thanx have a nice day

its a Slurve, he add's or takes away speed giving it more break or less, making the pitch a SLURVE, also he throws a 4 seam fastball that has movement every now and then not a 2 seamer

and even more proof from the nytimes today: "On a 3-1 count to Youkilis, the Yankees shaded the outfield toward left field, expecting him to pull. When Sabathia left a two-seamer up — “Everybody in the ballpark knows it’s coming,” Sabathia said -- Youkilis ripped it the other way.On a 3-1 count to Youkilis, the Yankees shaded the outfield toward left field, expecting him to pull. Just curious, what is exactly meant when it is said that the initial roster will be released today and the one with pitch edits will be releases in about a week? What are included in the pitch edits and is it worth waiting another week to start my franchise? Thanks anyone who answers this and thanks to Knight and Co. for these rosters.

I noticed a few people discussing the potential bug that exists with a lot of players. I was just curious if anything can be done or has been done for your set Knight? I suppose anyone involved could help with this, but it really does kill the game for a Detroit fan like myself to see Verlander get worse instead of better all the time... A lot of guys can't even stay in the Majors for 3 years as the potential currently exists.

It means the ones out today will have all the correct minor leaguers in all organizations with faces and correct stats and everything for all the players. Then the next person in their group will take these rosters and make sure every MLB player (pitcher) has the correct pitch repertoire and speeds etc. Ex - People say, hey Heath Bell needs a curveball or so and so doesn't throw a cutter, these will all be added or deleted in V2. (for Major Leaguers) the Minor leaguers are heavily scouted and researched and will have their pitches.
