Just another baseball fanatic eagerly awaiting the release of these inestimable rosters. You guys are like a beacon in an otherwise bleak and dreary world. Real talk! The Show without this joint effort to get in as many prospects as possible, tweak stances, accessories etc just isn't the same. Take your time lads, and make it epic. Your indefatigable and assiduous efforts are greatly appreciated.

Last year....some guy came in....downloaded...made a few changes and called it his.
We had some words...and he took it down....but it's not a great feeling.

We'll see I guess.

Hey Knight, I have the game and I was looking through the rosters (Rangers in particular) and I'm very disappointed in the ratings. I was wondering if you were going to tinker the default rosters at all before adding all of the minors.

Also, i was hoping you could add pitcher Colby Lewis into the game. He's penciled in to be the Rangers 3rd starter, but he isn't even on the game.

And a final side note, if you do ever happen to need any help on any Rangers stuff give me a shout, i'll be more than happy to help.

We had some words...and he took it down....but it's not a great feeling.

Mike, from the looks of it there are a ton of A potential players. I counted 30 and was only at Detroit. I stopped counting when I saw Miguel Cabrera a D potential. What gives?

I assume potentials will not remain A for peaked players, due to them already reaching their potential?!?!

But that is an assumption. A peaked player should not be potential for improvement or sure thing, cause they are already established.

Isn't potential able to change now in the game and vary? Could have sworn that was mentioned at the CD.

Along with Knight and the gang I am helping out this yr with specifically equipment updates since there are so many little different options.

I will be creating a new thread under the roster section as to what suggestions you have for mainly me and Riddin who is also work on this portion of the roster.

Casy Fien (RP/CL), who was designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers to make room on the 40 man roster for Johnny Damon, was claimed on March 1 by the Boston Red Sox. I have modified my proposed Detroit franchise rosters on the Roster Makers Resource Board to reflect this change.

Let me go ahead and apologize for this potentially rambling post. First of all, much respect and thanks to Knight, Razr, and everyone who contributes to these rosters. Honestly, it is grossly inadequate to simply call them amazing.

In addition to playing franchise with Knight’s roster, the most enjoyment I get out of this game is a family tournament that I play with my brother-in-law and nephews, now ages 11 and 14. For the last 2 years, we have held a draft and created teams with 40 man rosters, also selecting the exact same players for a fantasy baseball tournament that the four of us play on Espn.com. We play several rivalry series on MLB The Show to determine stolen base leaders, home run leaders, batting avg. leaders, along with several other categories, even including a Cy Young champion. There are cash prizes for each category, as well as a cash prize for advancing in the playoffs and of course the eventual champion. We also obviously have prizes for the fantasy part too. For our tournament, the minors rosters are obviously not all that important, but the batting stances, pitching motions, equipment, and attribute updates are. I live several hours from them and am not able to visit as often as I’d like, so we try to get our tournament started as soon as possible so we can get enough games in to get decent stats for the payouts and then have our semi-finals and final rivalry series coinciding (as closely as possible anyway) with the pennant races and World Series culminating in October.

I know last year a lot of the edits to player attributes had as much to do with keeping players in the proper batting order in the lineup as it did with actually reflecting each players real life abilities. I’m not sure if that will be different this year or not. Ultimately I want to have a roster that most accurately reflects the players’ real life attributes, including pitchers’ real life pitches, as well as their true batting stances, equipment, pitching motions, etc. What would you suggest as the best way to get this roster as soon as possible? Should I just use the edits from last years OSfmv4sta roster and make my own, or will I be able to download a roster with Razr’s edits before the lengthy process of creating the minor league rosters is completed? Also, could you confirm whether or not attribute adjustments will be made to most accurately reflect the players’ true abilities, and if so, why don’t the people who are actually paid to develop this game provide us with more accurate attributes to begin with?

Okay...so El Mayimbe has some updates already done(equipment...stances)...and is getting it to Ridin' tomorrow for the first part of creating.
Ridin' is working the top 25-50.....while I just sim up a storm to get a handle on the sim stats for this year(so is Ridin)...
Once we get a good base...we'll get the attributes rolling.
Ksig is also going to help out with the editing and a couple of other members have also offered up some help with this.
With this many guys....there really shouldn't be a day that we don't have someone editing...and if we can knock out 50 players a day(that's 1 team this year)....we're looking pretty good to be close to Opening Day for the base set!
I'll shoot that over to Razr'(he needs some time anyway with tracking I believe)
The O.S. Community is the best.
I'm really happy with the way this is coming together.

i thought you could edit the potential rating for players. I dont see this option anywhere in the edit or cap screens.

did i just mis-understand that this rating could be edited this year?

Potential can progress or go the other way this year, you can't edit it.
