couple things as I ponder the possibilities of this roster set to whom it may concern...

injuries from off-season/spring - dl management...
i have not found out how you place injuries on players either while in the edit roster screen in the main menu or in franchise...can this be done and do you guys plan on releasing it w/ the injuries? I'm sure somebody will start a list for us franchise geeks...

stamina edits
alas as it was in '09 all pitchers have 'juiced' stamina ratings & do not tire nor get yanked from games realistically...does anybody know if RAZR is including these w/ the pitch edits? i will have no problem putting in these b/c I have the spreadsheets still and my personal set in front of me based off ja's final release...

contracts...
from what i've read about and experienced in franchise play a large amount of contracts in the game are not correct and does result players getting traded as a result (last year on a contract, etc.)...I know we have the workaround w/ the 30 team franchise, so I was wondering if maybe an option is for somebody to start one w/ no profile on any teams off this set and release and re-sign those players accordingly...somebody could start a thread on this...

btw guys on the potential ratings..***ssel/whomever came out and said it was a BUG...that meaning there were set potentials out of the box that somehow got mixed up w/o their knowledge & what they did with the update was fix this problem, NOT edit each individual player's rating...somebody in a different thread posted each player who stayed the same or were increased and Russell requested that it be saved...Thus its my personal believe that this does not guarantee any other potential rating changes in the next update or the next couple updates as nothing has been announced...pm them and ask but there is a thread about not doing this...

No worries man. And I guess I shoulda added that I personally dont agree with these new updated potential ratings all that much still. Just like you mentioned with Duke being a D, (And I heard that Omar Vizquel is an "A"?) Thats not realistic at all, but the problem to me is... How do you know that SCEA will change the potential ratings again?

I mean if SCEA already came out and said they will still make modifications towards these potential ratings for Pro's and Prospects then by all means I hope they wait before they start these custom rosters.

Thats why I said it may be the best its going to get. I hope SCEA decides to take another swing at it and correct it some more.

Thats kinda why I want the roster makers to wait and see if SCEA says they'll make more corrections next week. If they start now they won't go back and restart them when/if SCEA makes adjustments.

Just gonna throw this out there to everyone that has been simming and looking at the next years potential. Many have posted, most players ratings are having them sim terribly which also leads to potential decreasing due to these poor years. Ksig posted in another thread that he had simmed a couple of seasons and saw NO ONE reach 200 K's. ERA's in simmed seasons, for the most part with few exception, are exceptionally high. Pitchers who in real life have ERA's in the low 3's high 2's (Lincecum, Johnson, Lee, etc) very rarely sim to these numbers on any consistant basis. Ive seen Sabathia post ERA's in the 5's across multiple sim seasons. Thats borderline absurd regardless of the band box he pitches in. This has to adversely affect potential. Decreases in potential has to somehow be tied into the last years performance which can only be stat based because that can be the only way the game engine read such. If the ratings are changed and stats sim more true to life, will potential stabalize and we wont see that fluctuation that Ridin and others are seeing especially when it comes to pitchers?

the only caution with waiting for SCEA to "fix" this; how do we even know they will? they're hard at work trying to fix the franchise problems in this game, presumably for a patch, so that the computer does not trade your own players. i'd have to imagine this is at the forefront of priorities over zach duke being a d potentialed player. i'm just not sure about this being something they fix, this isn't a game breaker for most people, whereas having people traded against your knowledge in franchise mode is for some if they don't want to do the workaround, you know what i mean? and another caution with potentials, players break out and digress randomly in this league, if we give every current player their "rightful" potentials, that's kind of taking away that surprise element. at least in my opnion, which is at 8:49 AM in the morning, where i barely got sleep, so my post probablty has about 90 flaws in it, that's just my take.

these rosters are fine

Zach Duke being a D? big deal... he has a good rookie year, was terrible, then had a decent year last year, and will probably be terrible again

he should probably be a C at absolute best, so D is not that huge of a deal for him

and as far as the rest of the players, i dont see too many glaring mistakes.. a few players w/ A's that need B's, C's that need B's etc.. most that are off are only off by one letter

I had asked this earlier in the thread but I believe it got buried, so any help would be appreciated.

Last year Knight made multiple rosters (full minors, full minors with Razrs' pitch edits, etc).

How many will you be doing this year Knight?

How has the recent hacking of the ps3 going to affect the way the rosters are created for mlb 10. Will we be able to make unlimited edits to players now (i.e service time, career stats, position edits)?

i'd be interested in knowing this too, i doubt theres anything that can be done through it though

i was just using him as an example. but one letter grade is huge. i've seen B pot guys lose points, and then an A guy gain 9 ovr...so huge deal. now its way more guys than you think. just another pirates example b/c i've seen their roster the most, if you guys know Daniel McCutchen, he's late 20s battling for a 5th spot in spring training for the first time in his career. consensus is he's prob a high C or low B pot guy maybe. he's an A. that is so wrong. and for you guys who say duke should be C, so and so should be D, do you realize, if zach duke is a high B ovr guy now, and he has a C pot, he will decrease maybe 4 ovr a year or something until he is a C ovr guy, to match his pot...thats how it seems to work. its really a bad system IMO, but it is the case so idk how you say he's a C in that case. he's what 26, he is not going to be a C ovr guy in two years in real life, barring some injury or something.

Might be of use for Full Minors, or tweaking your own franchises, as you see fit.

hey im new to this whole making a roster thing but i have a couple questions..im a huge cardinal fan so i customized the cards roster with all their gear and stances so will knights roster have these??

and what do you guys think of david freese?? do you think he will have a solid year?
