Not yet but it'll either be Russ or Ramon Ortiz

I have a question I've always pondered and was hoping maybe you had some insight. Why do minor league team affiliations seem to change so often? It seems every few years, the AAA teams shuffle around.
they can change for a ton of reasons, some choose to reaffiliate cuz of distance, some because of blackout tv markets/some because they want their fans to be a short drive from seeing their prospects (ie red sox, paw sox). other times it has to do with things like the affiliates management/profitablity

Anyone who doesn't want Bryce can simply edit his ratings to make him awful.

Getting back to talk about pitching with both hands, I'm pretty sure there's a rule that the pitcher can change hands per batter but not during the at bat. I'm also sure that if he's facing a switch hitter, pitcher is able to pick after the batter.

The pitcher must declare before the at-bat begins which hand he will pitch with.

I believe that the batter may hit left handed one pitch and right handed the next, etc.. Only the pitcher is restrained by the rule book regarding handedness.

There are a few reasons not to add Bryce Harper. Number one, his age isn't even in the game. Number two, you don't know for sure where he will go. He could pull a JD Drew and sit out for a year. Number three, he might be that good, but its just hype right now, so you really can't put a bearing on him. I heard someone say that we should just make him horrible. What a waste of an A potential, if you want him in so bad, you should make him yourself, instead of us making him bad.

What they should do is have him pitch an entire game with one arm, and then recoup the legs for a day or two, then start him again with the other arm instead of switching arms. You get two pitchers for the price of one. But the downside would be, if he gets injured, you also lose two pitchers.

                  Minor League Rules

The pitcher must visually indicate to the umpire, batter and runner(s) which way he will begin pitching to the batter. Engaging the rubber with the glove on a particular hand is considered a definitive commitment to which arm he will throw with. The batter will then choose which side of the plate he will bat from.
The pitcher must throw one pitch to the batter before any "switch" by either player is allowed.
After one pitch is thrown, the pitcher and batter may each change positions one time per at-bat. For example, if the pitcher changes from right-handed to left-handed and the batter then changes batter's boxes, each player must remain that way for the duration of that at-bat (unless the offensive team substitutes a pinch-hitter, and then each player may again "switch" one time).
Any switch (by either the pitcher or the batter) must be clearly indicated to the umpire.
There will be no warmup pitches during the change of arms.
If an injury occurs the pitcher may change arms but not use that arm again during the remainder of the game.

                  Major League Rules

MLB Rule 8.01 (f), regarding ambidextrous pitchers
A pitcher must indicate visually to the umpire-in-chief, the batter and any runners the hand with which he intends to pitch, which may be done by wearing his glove on the other hand while touching the pitcher's plate. The pitcher is not permitted to pitch with the other hand until the batter is retired, the batter becomes a runner, the inning ends, the batter is substituted for by a pinch-hitter or the pitcher incurs an injury. In the event a pitcher switches pitching hands during an at-bat because he has suffered an injury, the pitcher may not, for the remainder of the game, pitch with the hand from which he has switched. The pitcher shall not be given the opportunity to throw any preparatory pitches after switching pitching hands. Any change of pitching hands must be indicated clearly to the umpire-in-chief.

High School fields are not nearly as well groomed as College and Minor League fields. I may retire after my first game! I can barely bend my knee, major raspberry on my outter upper thigh, ripped up knee, and scraped up ankle all from a normal pop slide into second base or should I say the pavement!
Nice game at the plate. Out here in the DC area, we play on some rough fields at times. I really think there are times where we do more work on the fields then the high schools that are responsible for them do. On the other hand, when we play in Fairfax county, those are generally really nice schools with nice fields.

When I played AAABA we played on this one field that had been aerated the day before. I played CF that game and every play was impossible. running over hundreds of these hard cork sized soil deposits was hard enough on a fly ball let alone the bounces the ball took if it hit anywhere in the outfield. They decieded to not count errors that game after the 1st 1/2 inning.

The Red Sox confirmed the signing of Cuban outfielder Jorge Padron, a 22-year-old left-handed hitter.
One internet report had him receiving a $350,000 bonus. Padron is a skilled hitter without a lot of power. To what degree he'll be an impact player in the organization is to be determined.
Padron will report to extended spring training and could start the season with High-A Salem or maybe Portland. The Yankees also had an interest in him.

Didnt know if you guys know much about this guy or not, thought it was worth a post if you wanna add him. possibly he could start at portland which is AA he has to have at least good contact hitter

We're on pace for Opening Day...if not the day after.
Like I said before....as far as players...and attributes....the set will be completely done.
Hopefully I'll get all the faces in as well....but we'll go with what we got as of one of those days.
Either way....I'll be finishing up all the faces pretty quickly if I can't get them in the initial release.
                              Everything is looking very good.
