BFJ and Ryan4889,
I already went through all of the teams (26 of them for ’88 season) and edited the ratings for them season using Bahnzo’s tool, at least I think that is what the roster tool is called. I also edited their ages to feflect the player’s age for that season. I only edited the guys that played a significant amount of time for each team while making sure that each team had a 25 man roster. I only edited the NL pitchers batting attributes for the starters and a few spot starters for the NL teams. Now, some of the bench players and fringe players (players that did not have many at-bats but were placed on the 25 man roster to round the roster out) had ridiculously high or low attributes due to the imbalance of playing time so someone may want to adjust those. For instance, there are a ton of throwing arms at 99 using the roster tool. I also made sure that some of the players that were involved in a trade during that season were placed with the team that they started with that season, (Tom Brunansky with the Twins; Tom Herr with the Cardinals, Brady Anderson with the Redsox, Pedro Guerrero with the Dodgers before the Cardinals, etc. etc….) I also set the lineups and rotations but those can be changed. I used the work-around to get the accurate uniform numbers as well.
I can upload what I have if anyone desires these but most, if not all, of the credit goes to ryan4889 and anyone who helped him. I have never uploaded anything on to the roster vault before, is it easy? If I do upload these I will name them “1988 ros”. Also, if someone could go through and edit the faces it would be great. The only issue with editing the players is that when you edit the players with retired numbers while they are on the MLB roster, their number goes “out of wack” again. But if you; 1) move them out of starting lineup or starting rotation, 2) swap them with a AAA, AA, or A level bench player, 3) edit them, and then 4) swap them back with the player that you swapped them with before editing, their numbers will be fine. The numbers will be affected by player movement from their team as well, (even if that particular player was not the player being moved to a different team!) and you also have to make sure that none of the minor leaguers of the level you swap the player to do not have the same number as the player being sent down so that needs to be recognized as well. I also created a slider set that I use to counteract the high and low ratings if anyone is interested.
I absolutely loved (and miss) baseball in the 80’s and early to mid 90’s so these rosters really bring a sense of nostalgia to me and my friends. I will not be answering questions about how I got these ridiculousratings as these are the ratings that the roster tool gave me for that particular season. I will only respond to a bfj or ryan4889 if they would like me to upload these.
Thanks
