Re: MLB '10: The Show Rosters: OS Full Minors V.1

I am new to playing a franchise and wanted to fix a couple of issues with the new lineups that just came out. Guzman on the Cubs is done for the season and I have injuries on manual but how do I list him as injured for the season?

I don't ever post. (Look at when I joined and my number of post lol) I use OS for reviews and feedback from fans of sports games (And I read quite a few amusing posts at work). But I felt the need to say thanks to ALL of the guys that worked on this. Seriously makes the game so much more authentic.

Re: MLB '10: The Show Rosters: OS Full Minors V.1

Great work on the rosters! Don't know what I would have done without it.

If I remember correctly the goal is to have the correct AAA rosters, and AA and A filled with prospects.
As mentioned earlier in this thread the Red Sox Rosters can be found at http://soxprospects.com/org.htm. The minor league rosters was also posted on Boston.com yesterday: http://www.boston.com/sports/basebal...league_af.html
I compared V.1 with the site and found the following:

            Brian Shouse, RP
            Paul Byrd, SP (???)
            Jorge Sosa, RP
Casey Fien, RP (Signed with Detroit, http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlb)
Charlie Zink, SP (Signed with minor league deal with St. Louis)
            Richie Lentz, CP (Retired)
            Jeff Natale, 2B
            Reid Engel, CF
Bob McCrory, RP (Failed physical, contract voided)
            • Fabio Castro, RP, is on the 40-Man Roster, but to add him you have to remove Tazawa, who is on the 60-day DL(Tommy John surgery). Not sure if you missed this, or decided to leave Tazawa on the 40-Man Roster. I think you made the right choice to leave him on.

            • MLB lineup: Beltre bats sixth, Drew seventh. Ortiz is DH against left-handers(he will DH tonight against Pettite).

            • I think Jose Iglesias' potential (C) should be higher. He is supposed to be the Red Sox shortstop of the future.

            • Missing AAA players:
            Kris Johnson, Starting LHP
            Alan Embree, LHP
            TJ Large, RHP
            Angel Sanchez, SS
            Ryan Khoury, INF
            • Luis Exposito spelled wrong (not Esposito)

Re: MLB '10: The Show Rosters: OS Full Minors V.1

              Dear Razr, Knight and others,

Thank you for the new roster. I appreciate all the hard work that went into it.

In regard to your question, I would appreciate the stamina edits in the next version.

Finally, I have two general questions regarding manipulating the rosters. They are as follows:

              1. I note that the Detroit Tigers franchise includes three players who are non-editable as to name and face who were non-roster invitees, but were never on the 40 man roster. They are Phil Dumatrait, Enrique Gonzalez and Robinzon Diaz. I would like to replace them with fully editable new players, but I know of no way to do it and end up with a saved roster with these changes. I know I can exchange them with players in the Free Agent Pool, but that does not solve the problem. Is there any way to "release" these three players and still have a saved roster I can use for all purposes. These players were included in the original issued rosters and have continued to carry through. If there is no way to "release" them, and replace them with a new editable player, then perhaps that is a change we should ask for.

              2. Regarding "injuries", is it possible to injure players and place them on the DL and save the result in a roster format (as opposed to saving it as a "franchise")? This would be useful in trying to create an opening day roster that truly reflects the full situation on opening day which can be used over and over again in different modes.

I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give to these two questions.

              Thank you.

              Karle

Credit goes out to Pope300hitter05 for getting all of this ready. He's handled all of my spreadsheet work so far and will be helping on the inputs also.
I would like them separate. Should have a version with V1 plus Strut, V1 with Strut and Rzar and so on. That way people can choose based on their wants.

Just because he's in the top 50 doesn't mean he's automatically an A prospect. Why does everyone whine if someone is a B prospect? I'd take a B player any day on my team.

Thanks for listing fixes....I'll get to them(if I can sort them out)...
I tried to stress that this version was going to be a bit raw as I didn't get the chance to go through each team/each level as I usually do before release. Some teams(ala Red Sox) were done a while ago...long before all the minor league rosters were set.
...and in the case of releasing guys(SCEA players that cannot be edited)...we are a little hamstrung on that....with no more players to be had.
You will see some things that need fixing....for sure. I left off at the Orioles(that's where I start)...so obviously I've got a ways to go to re-check and adjust everything.
This is all on me....Ridin' and Ksig did the setting up and the general attribute settings....I was going in to do the fine tuning and faces.
Hopefully, you can tell the players I already did and didn't.

Thanks for all your well wishes guys.
Things are still not good..and unfortunately, I don't see them getting any better in the near future ....
                          I will answer everyone who PM'ed me....I promise...when I get the chance.
Thanks for the support fellas....It means A LOT
O.S. is simply the best. TOP NOTCH.

                          Knight,
First off, thanks for your hard work. Second, regarding the Red Sox. I encourage you, when you get around to fixing the mistakes on the Red Sox roster, to go through the minor leagues carefully because, like I said in my post (page 21 of this thread), I may have missed some errors. Nonetheless, I love the work you've done and I will probably just go ahead and run my franchise with these rosters.

...if the set was built by 30 fans of 30 teams, every prospect would be A or B POTENTIAL (potential being the operative word). By your line of thinking, Lawrie is the next Mauer or Weiters. They're are far more A and B potentials that turn out to be busts in RL, then B, C, or D guys that become stars, These guys are more often than not relegated to career role players. (think Swisher, Tehan, or D. Young)

...your complaining about his potential, but didn't mention that he's a catcher now (listed as 2B) or that the guy in front of him, Lacroy isn't at the right affiliate level?

God, it's hard not to feel like an impatient *ick while waiting for this rosters to go through their various stages lol I have the utmost respect for Knight as he always come across as such a genuinely nice guy, not to mention the work he puts in. Thanks to everyone else who helped this year as well.

I'm not trying to be pushy or a bother, but just to calm curiosity...

Does anyone in-the-know have an idea of where the rosters are going next? Will it be Knight finishing the faces and minor roster mistakes before Strut gets it? Or with Knight seemingly being held up for the moment is Strut going to start now and then get it back to Knight when he's ready? I'm not sure if this kind of discussion is going on between you all who are working on this, if so I'm sorry, just morbidly curious as to where things are going from here

I personally (unfortunately lol) feel the need to wait for Razr's pitch/stamina edits before starting my franchise, the faces and equipment are secondary cosmetics to me.

I know there's no time table and I'm not asking for one, just an order of who's working on what next maybe?
