      Re: 1989 Complete Rosters

Alrighty, rosters are as done as I can make them. A few changes:

-D-Backs are an all star of movie teams (Bad News Bears, Major League II, Love of the Game, The Fan, Brewsters Millions, Tiger Town, Rookie of the Year, Angels in the Outfield, Mr. Baseball, Sandlot, Bull Durham, The Natural, Eastbound and Down)

-Rays are players from the movie Major League, my all time favorite, also happen to come out in 89. Mainly Indians, a few Yankees and an A's player. All names were taken from player jerseys in the movie, except for one.

-All shoes were updated to look how they were in '89

-All jersey numbers are correct (Brett #5, Puckett #34, Ripken #8 etc)

-Added Goose Gossage to NY, Ken Phelps to Oak, and Pat Sheridan to SF

-Added a few stances/pitching motions to various players

-Upgraded as many faces as possibly

-changed equipment to a few players

-music was added to mine, if you have music you may have randoms assigned to some players

Can be found under the name Schnell 1989 V2

ryan4889 and I have joined forces to bring vs3 to the table. Updated ratings using the banzo tools. Should be as real as they can get. Coming soon...........1990

with these rosters ive found that turning up the cpu pitcher control slider up a few knotches works well...the control ratings may have been a little low but this will offset that...these are awesome to play with...my cubs just stole the series from the braves in the season opener...wild thing has 2 saves already...good stuff

Dave Stewart: Edwin Jackson's delivery, check it out, almost exact
Dave Parker: Generic 35, head tilted the way the Cobra did it

just some ideas... Otherwise, AWESOME WORK

Hey, Kritter, I see this was your first post. Just wanted to let you know that we have a 80/90's stance & delivery thread going and would love to hear your input on any more suggestions you have. Here's the link.

Downloaded these rosters last night and started up a season, which is what these rosters are meant for, correct?? anyway, they are awesome...I'm a cubs fan so needless to say i'm very disheartened with the real thing this year and decided that i would boycott the 2010 cubs on the show as well!!

Thought i'd try out one of the classic rosters and these seem great so far...played just a couple of games so far and a lot of the stances seem pretty good from what i've seen. i'm 33 and can remember back to 1989 pretty well as the Cubs were in the playoffs that year.

First feedback i've given and might chime in a little more as i get a little further into the season using these rosters!!!

they seem pretty nice thus far...
                MLB: Chicago Cubs
                NCAA Hoops: Georgetown Hoyas
                NBA: Los Angeles Lakers
                NFL: Kansas City Chiefs
                NCAA Football: Nebraska Cornhuskers
HS Football: Rolla High School Bulldogs '95 (12-1)

Curious about the Jerome Walton stance on the Cubs...he had a completely open stance with a big long stride into the ball, almost diving back towards home plate...i just started a season and i'll post a good Jerome Walton (ROY in '89) when i come across one!

Right there with you, the A's are a pretty boring team this year as well. I don't think I've been able to watch an entire game this year. I was 11 in '89, the A's were much more exciting back then.

I don't remember what page they were on, but sort by date and look on either the 24th or 25th and you should be able to find them.

If you sort them out by their %, v.3 is ranked like 80% right now, should be on the first page. v.2 is ranked like 50% right now

Pj, I should have mentioned that I did finally get to play a game using your rosters. I had to fire up the Giants and A's with me as the Giants. Lost 3-0, but had a couple of opportunities squandered. I played in the Polo Grounds and one of the runs I gave up was an inside-the-parker. It was a fun game though, and I like what you did with these. I'll definitely be playing more with them.

I'm 9-5 in my seaon right now, Canseco and McGwire each hit 5 homers in the first 6 games, slowed down a bit now though. Weiss is hitting over .400, Rickeys off to a slow start, still top 10 in BB's. Stewart, Welch and Young are off to slow starts, but my bullpen is lights out. The stats across the boards are looking good so far. Pretty fun seeing the old ballplayers on the field.

started a season as the 89 cubs but haven't gotten past opening day yet cause i'm playing all most every game to check out the rosters and stances and motions...i must say impressive thus far on stances and motions (for the most part)

Played as the Pirates last night against dodgers. knocked Orel around but Drabek got hit hard too. went to extras the dodgers got me on a mike davis rbi double. no homers in the game...very fun.

Not sure if the Drabek motion is that spot on...was thinking tim hudson would fit him better. that's just off memory from Drabek's motion back in the day.
