Well, everyone except one person who has replied to this thread, probably a relative , agrees that he has some growing up to do at the very least. I think that pretty much sums up the opinion of the sports fan world.

I didn't say it was an excuse.

There's no reasoning with people who enjoy judging others based on preconceived notions.

Just because the majority of people believe something (no matter what the subject is), that doesn't make something true.

That is true to an extent, but actions speak pretty loud.

An excuse is defined as a reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense.

I mean saying he blew the kiss at the opposing player because they had thrown at him earlier or because they stared him down and yelled something sure sounds like an excuse to me.

I don't enjoy judging him, I just call it how I see it. I wish he wasn't a douche, but he is. I would definately prefer one of the top up prospects to come through baseball was a good guy, but it just isn't the case with Harper.

I was simply pointing that out to give further insight to the situation. I'm not excusing what he did.

That's nothing more than an opinion stated as a fact. You do not know what is in this man's soul.

GASP - a teenager that's not totally mature yet? ABSURD!

It's not just Harper. I work in an industry where we hire a ton of just out of high-school and college kids. An entitlement attitude is prevalent amongst most of the post-1990ers that I've come across. He isn't special in that regard. I hate when we hold athletes to a higher standard like this as if they aren't real people.

And you don't know it either. I've seen A LOT more people who get the impression that he is a cocky, entitled feeling, douchebag....than nice kid.

You have your opinion, and they have theirs. Stop trying to pretend that yours is more important or correct.

Also...should anyone be surprised that he is a cocky little immature prick? People have been sucking up to him and stroking his ego since he was a kid, of course it's going to go to his head.

What does that have to do with anything. One of the main problems with the world is that everyone follows what others do and think.

You have your opinion, and they have theirs. Stop trying to pretend that yours is more important or correct.
Also, I'm not pretending to know anything. It's called using logic.

I have no idea. All I know is that it's no one else's business.

When people discuss other people's attitudes and things like this, it disgusts me and makes me feel ashamed for America. Talk like this has no place in our society. The public education system, mainstream media and Hollywood have all been very successful in brainwashing and mentally conditioning an entire generation.

What I do know is that you think that your opinion of a person who you don't know personally is more important and correct than the vast majority of everyone else who has a different one.

Unless you're friends with Harper, or are related to him, just because you've "followed" him for years doesn't make you some sort of expert or insider into how his perceived personality is or isn't.

You're as disgusting as the people who blindly hate him with your blind devotion to him. It's people like you who make Harper believe that he's god's gift to baseball before ever even stepping into the box at the MLB level.

All of that hate is going to destroy you. Let it go, man. Just let it go.

Once again, you can't speak for me.

If something like that disgusts you, you need to reevaluate what disgusts you.

Why do you keep mentioning what other people think? Is it because you believe that it lends more credence to reality?

This is absurd to discuss. I only commented on this because of all of the slander that was going on.

I don't have the time, nor effort to hate Harper. I'm not a Nationals fan, and not a fan of any team in the NL East. Therefor, I find it easy to just avoid even having to hear about him every ten minutes.

With that said, what I do hate is people who think that because they have a strong opinion about something, than it MUST be right and everyone else is wrong and evil and stupid.

You're arrogant about your opinion...when your's is no more correct than anyone else's. You don't know Harper, you're just a fan.

Wow. I didn't realize this was going to get so heated when I made a lighthearted, albeit mean-spirited, comment about Bryce Harper. Jason is taking it so personally that I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually Bryce Harper himself. Please, can we end this debate before someone says something they regret?
