    Re: 2012 Transaction / Injury /DL EditsThread

I still cannot figure out how or why the game is not letting me injure/force DL players in my franchise.

    I have 30 team control.

    I have injuries on MANUAL.

I have my CUSTOM 1 profile set as default and it's associated with all 30 teams.

Injury Management is set to MANUAL in MODE SPECIFIC settings.

I'm in the first week of my franchise. I go to DISABLED LIST and when I hit R1/L1 I get no response. Does anyone have an idea of what setting I might be missing or unaware of? Please, any help is welcome.

      Re: 2012 Transaction / Injury /DL EditsThread

The list has been updated through 04/02/2012 (a day before the last spring training day). For the final day I'm currently sorting through each teams roster to make sure that they are all accurate to the opening day 25 man rosters. I'm also making minor league transfers so that the game doesn't auto sort players because teams are over the limit, same goes for positions that are missing, that mostly is the closer position, in which case I'm looking at stats for the minor league teams and assigning that role (only when their is a roster violation) to the pitcher with the most saves in Triple-A and Double-A.

Since there is an injury limit on teams I've had to move some players to single-A. There is also a 90 player limit for all teams and I've had to release a few players who weren't actually released to make room for better players who have been acquired.

Long story short, I'm working hard to try to get this into the regular season but this particular day is the most tedious of all of them. Once I've gotten past that point, regular updates will be a breeze

I'm also going to include correct opening day lineups for LHP/RHP but inter-league lineups will not be correct. For AL teams I'll likely make non-DH lineups the same as the DH minus the DH player. For NL I'll make the DH

I'm probably a few days out from posting the 04/03/2012 changes and the advance to regular season.

Moving into the regular season there will still be quite a few minor league players that are not in their correct minor league level but I'll try to add updates to those as we get into the regular season. Just know that minors won't be perfect but the MLB will be.

I like to play 1-team control in my franchise, but like to start the season as accurate as possible, so I plan to manually injure all of the players prior to Opening Day, and then turn injuries to auto after that. My question is will the CPU controlled teams put the players that I manually injure onto the DL at some point, or are they just going to leave them injured on the bench?
For some reason if you're using 1 team control the CPU won't put anyone you manually injure for them on the DL, which sucks.

30 team control, all the options set to manual, then go to the DL and i try changing pages with R1/L1. Not sure what I'm missing either!

Well, Pineda is officially out till next season. Shoulder surgery, according to Al Leiter who had the same surgery back in his younger days... With the right rehabilitation, Pineda could throw as hard, or even harder than he did when he was in Seattle... So hopeful about this kid...

Good catch! I remember thinking "I need to add the bit about setting injuries to manual." Must have slipped my mind. I'll update the 1st post.

                  04/03/2012
These are the last updates before the regular season begins. You'll notice a couple of teams have a lot more changes than others. I briefly decided to update each team fully so that the minors were accurate. Tracking down all the minor league players was proving to take a very long time. I'd received some message from folks who plan to switch over to auto lineups once we hit the regular season, so I decided to post up through the end of the regular season so they could start up their season. I will still be making minor league corrections to run on 04/04/2012 to bring all of the teams up to 25/25 with adequate positions filled and accurate players in their appropriate classes. That will likely take a couple of weeks to complete.

Anyhow, there are some minor league changes for most teams as well as a few position changes, the reason being when you finish with this update all of your rosters should be within all of the games limits which means it won't shuffle around players until your minor leagues start their seasons.

For this update after playing or simming your games for the day. Do a "Sim To Date". That will take care of some waivers, claims and what not. After doing the sim to date start making the roster changes. DO NOT choose "ADVANCE TO REGULAR SEASON" until you have made all of the changes for 04/03/2012. Unless you plan on having the game handle other teams lineups and rotations at this point, make sure to change your profiles to manual for Lineups/Rotations and set them at this point (information on where to get lineup information below). Once the changes are made choose "ADVANCE TO REGULAR SEASON"

If you want to set accurate lineups for each team, you can get opening day rosters (or any day for that matter) from Baseball Press

Opening day rotations/bullpen can be found at MLB Depth Charts Just click on the team you're looking for and then on the "For 2012 Opening Day roster, click HERE." link.

180 days for Stephen Drew? He is on track to join the dbacks in about 4 weeks.

You can just remove the injury at that point.

Exactly. Every injury is over estimated. If the injury ends in the game before the real life injury does the player becomes active again when they should still be injured. However, if you extend it past the date they should come back, you can remove the injury and the transaction log will just show that they came off of the DL that day. The list will be updated to let you know when players have been removed from the DL so that they come back at the correct times.

That said, you should hold off on making changes for now. I am going to be switching over to the OSFM V3 (pitch edits) roster when it becomes available. My plan is to start a new franchise with that roster, make all of the spring training and minor league edits in the franchise and then post a franchise file for download that will be set for for opening day. From their you will be able to follow the list for injuries/transactions following opening day.

I'm hoping (but keep in mind that I'm going into this roster blind of any changes that happened to the roster since the OSFM Spring Training Roster) that I can have something up by the end of this weekend. I'm wanting to get my franchise going as well though, so hopefully things move quicker than that

All players have been injured for longer than their expected return to avoid having them come active from the DL before they should. You can remove an injury on a player at any point and the transaction log will show them coming off of the DL that day. I opted to go that route rather than trying to guess as close as possible so that I could avoid having multiple re-injuries to players in the transaction log. I don't think injuries have a long term affect on player performance in the game, I just like to look at the logs sometimes and having one injury as opposed to multiple seemed preferable to me. It also allows me to have "Remove Injury" actions in the list where I can pretty much be guaranteed that anyone following the list should still have the player injured at that time and will not be confused if they look and find the player not injured.

Wow that's awesome and I can't wait. I was already waiting for version 3 to drop so waiting a few extra days wont hurt anything. What you're saying is you will have set up in such a way where all I need to do is follow ur updates as to when people should be called up. I don't have to injure everyone manually or I should still do that?
