This is just a suggestion but wouldn't it be better if Strut's daily transactions were stickied in their own thread like in other years. He would add each day's transactions to the thread as a new post so we'd know right away whenever he made changes. We wouldn't have to scroll through all the transactions in post 21 like we do now. It's not a big deal though, I'm just greatful that he does it.

Re: 2012 Transaction / Injury /DL EditsThread
Hey guys,
I know a few of you had contacted me last week about keeping up with the original post. Things have been very busy for me the last couple of weeks and my free time has been spent playing my own manager mode franchise. Unfortunately, I've started playing in a way that doesn't follow the original post and reuquires a lot less effort on my part. I'm still going with injuries as they happen but I'm sticking to realistic injury times and letting the CPU handle the teams DL's that are not my own. The problem that I found in following call ups as they happen in real life are that these players are being called up because of their production in the minor leagues. Calling them up in the game just because they've been called up in real life just doesn't make much sense to me anymore. I'm finding it much more fun to injure players as they happen but let the CPU and my own team decide on who replaces them.
If folks want me to post the injuries I'm making as I go I'd be happy to do that. I'm currently up through 4/1 in my franchise playing that way.
Some of you who had sent me a private message asked that if I wasn't going to keep up the original post to let them know how I was coming up with the information for that post. The gist of it is, I copy the transactions page from mlb.com into notepad ++ and then I search out keywords "placed" for placed on disabled list. I then click the link for that player and look at the game logs to see the last day that he played. I choose that day for his injury and put it in a separate document, I also add the day the day that he is added to the disabled list. The same goes for called up, sent down, designated for assignment, etc.
Anyhow, my apologizes to anyone that has been following the list on the first page but it's a lot more work to keep up with than I originally had thought it would be and now that I'm not playing that style of franchise anymore it's too much for me to keep up with.

Re: 2012 Transaction / Injury /DL EditsThread
Hal, I was wondering if you can post all of the spring training and off-season injuries too? I am trying to make a franchise file based of a new roster and would like to have it set up like one of the franchise files you created.Comment

love the franchise file. thanks, Hal, for all the hard work and sharing. i'm abit of a newbie to the Show, and wanted to ask a couple questions:
-do you include the within minors transactions, reported in the milb transaction logs when you advance a franchise file? i've been trying it, but it seems to me to be an overwhelming task.
-if so, how do you handle placing players on/off temporary reserve, or the milb 7-day DL?
-how do you handle a player that goes on the DL, and whose real-life injury turns out to keep him on the DL longer than expected? is there some way to extend an injury while a player is still on DL?
-is there any way to bring real-life players into the draft?
i'd appreciate any info.

if a player goes longer then the injury u gave, then u simply un-injure before the first injury is complete and re-injure, or if he runs his coarse and maybe you forget, u can injure him again
hope that helpsComment
