I fixed this, new version is up in the OP. Just had the lookup range too short in some of the formulas, Young was near the end of the database and it wasn't finding him.

Re: Made my own ratings calculator

Okay, I put a new version up that adjusts the formulas for power, clutch, and contact. Power and clutch will be lessened overall now, but hitters like Bautista will keep their 90+ power ratings.

Take a look and let me know what you guys think.

So I was doing some thinking....for Durability, I think we could use (GP/162)*100

Here are some Rangers durability #'s with those (based on an avg of 3 years equally)

                      C Torrealba - 56
                      1B Moreland - 56
                      2B Kinsler - 83
                      3B Beltre - 80
                      SS Andrus - 91
                      LF Murphy - 79
                      CF Hamilton - 71
                      RF Cruz - 74
                      DH Young - 93
                      C Napoli - 76
                      CF Gentry - DNQ
                      IF Gonzalez - 66
                      1B Snyder - DNQ

                      SP--(GP/35)*100
                      RP--(GP/81)*100

maybe we can use this thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...iscussion.html

How do these ratings play in The Show this year? I'm very intrigued by this thread and I'm thinking about using this calculator to edit players ratings to my liking...

Are hitters like Pujols/Cabrera still some of the best in the game? Are these ratings a drastic change compared to The Show's ratings?

Take a look at the stats that me and tbbucsfan posted. They look very accurate. DM have you thought of using 2012 ZiPS Projections instead of 3 year splits?

With ZiPS, here are Bautista's ratings...

                          RC - 68
                          LC - 70

                          D - 99

You'll notice in my last stat sim that Cabrera batted .323 with 33 HRs and Pujols had 33 HRs as well...

Cabrera in 2011 compared to 2012.

                              Wow those are very realistic!!

Damn I think I'm gonna edit every offense in the game this year using DM's calculator... Probably make the game much more realistic huh? Honestly, I don't think it will take that long to input these edits into the 30 MLB offenses.

Yeah I do believe so...My last simulation I had just 6 players hit 36+ HRs...and just 9 players hit over 100+ RBIs. (AL ONLY).

I think if there is someway we can implement Baserunning (BR/BA), Durability (which I have a formula for), and Fielding (Arm Str/Arm Acc/Fielding Ability), it would be perfect.

Edit: There's already a spot in the spreadsheets for Games, just wasn't filled in. If that gets filled in, all you need is a formula that reads (GP/162)*100. Though BR & BA is more difficult to get implemented.
