Sox signed Andrew Brackman to a minor league deal. I think he should have appeared in a past game (maybe this year) so if you wanted to, you could always use those attributes and save yourself the trouble of creating a whole new player.

Beat me again, haha! That's what I usually do. I think SCEA even does that sometimes too, as I noticed that Jhan Marinez had the exact same ratings when he was added into the game mid-season. So far, Brackman joins Purcey, Troncoso, and Moskos as pitchers that will have been removed in MLB 13.

They claimed Lars Anderson today. He appeared in the Majors last year so he should be included. Possible bench bat that can play 1B and corner outfield

Not a bad move. Low risk/high reward? I see this as insurance incase PK or Dunn goes down, considering there is NO ONE in the minors that can be called upon.

Yeah he is essentially just replacing Dan Johnson at Charlotte

Sox picked up Conor Gillaspie today while designating Lars Anderson...possible bench spot?

I think more than possible. He is out of options and a LH bat, so I think he is a lock, unless he does terrible in ST or somebody else blows him away.

How is this Soptic guy the Giants got in return? I see you have him rated as a C. His stats don't look great, but I read he can throw mid to high 90's.

And by the way, just so you know. Gillespie should be an SCEA created player.

Soptic has only two things going for him: a blazing fastball and a big frame. That's about it. His fastball has been clocked at 100 mph, but is usually 95-97. It doesn't have much movement, and his secondary pitches (slider and changeup) are garbage. Walks pretty much killed him this year. With his lack of command and lack of secondary pitches, he really doesn't project as much more than a reliever in my opinion. I ranked him a C because I don't think nearly as highly as some do. A triple-digit fastball does not also equate to success at the majors, and he is VERY raw still. At 21, he's still young enough to take a chance on though, so it's not like the Giants didn't get garbage in return. If he can improve his control and secondary stuff, I could see him as a right handed Matt Thornton set-up guy (who also only throws a fastball and has a fringy slider). However that is ONLY if all the chips fall into place, and that is going to take a lot of work by the Giants staff.

Thanks! I'm in full OSFM mode right now, so as soon as I heard about the deal on the radio, my first thought was about his potential grade! I will check these links out.

After seeing the video of the Sox/Cubs game play, it's good to see a couple new stances for Beckham, Konerko and Rios. Also good to see a more slimmed down Viciedo.

Except that Beckham's stance is pretty far off.

It's way better than it was last year.

They finally got his bat wiggle in there.

The great thing about this year's game is that they added options for follow through and stride.

I notice Viciedo was slimmed down too. And rightfully so. He isn't a fat ballplayer like he was shown to be in last years game. Sale looked good too. I especially liked seeing that 2-Seam FB in the #1 pitch spot this year. And it looks like his changeup is rated better (or at least I hope it is). But I have to say, I'm most happy after seeing the '83 uniforms making it in the game

And I don't believe he even does that anymore. He changed his stance this offseason. In the few ABs I have seen from this spring, he holds his bat flat, backwards, and then moves it back up as the pitch is being thrown.
