I've loaded a number of rosters, both downloaded from here and from the vault. Some of Knight's original rosters indicated that Scott Kazmir of the Indians was one included in his database (O.S.F.M.-V2-OD2 - Page 2):

Just download the latest SCEA update and export him from there and import him to whatever roster set you're using. That way you'll get the correct service time on him

OK. You just outran my coverage. Let me guess:

1. Do I do that in the vault or download from offline?
2. If it is from the vault, do I go through the '"Player Vault" selection, and then search thru the 206 pages of players to find Kazmir?
3. If I do it using the download function, how do I find Kazmir to import him specifically? I thought the Indians players all came into the MLB, AAA, AA, and A rosters that are all filled out after an import of the current rosters, each showing the actual onboard players at the date indicated.
4. So far, Kazmir has never shown up on any of those "imported" rosters for the Indians.

Sorry, but I'm still wandering in the desert.

EDIT: Can you identify for me the "latest SCEA update"? Might it be just as simple as 8-4-13? I was under the impression that all roster updates only covered the players that had changed - in other words, if the player was not on the roster before the update, he would not be added, that it was assumed a season-beginning update (like the one Knight puts out every April) would have added him back on the first week of April.

I'd say the easiest way is to go to the roster vault, download OSFM Hybrid v 2.3 (I think that's the latest one) from PSN name crapinmyshoe.

Load that roster, go find Kazmir on the Indians roster, export him.

Load up your own roster set, go to the Indians roster and import your previously exported Kazmir over another pitcher on the roster. That's it

Don't know from the top of my head how you get the latest online roster from SCEA but I know the OSFM Hybrid has the correct Kazmir with his correct service time as its been exported from the SCEA release previously and then imported onto the Hybrid set

You can get the latest online roster by hitting save live roster located in main menu area.

I followed both of your suggestions and I was unable to find Kazmir on either of them after I downloaded OSFM Hybrid v 23 from (1) the vault choices, or (2) the roster from the current save file roster on two separate attempts.

I have probably experimented on 30 different rosters and each time Kazmir is nowhere to be found.

I went into the vault to try to find Kazmir and someone had made a file up on him. I selected that and on another screen "Uploaded" him. But uploaded him to "where?" I have no idea.

On one of the first rosters put out by Knight I found Kazmir indicated with Cle attached to his name. but when went to download that series of downloads and followed Knight's hyperlink, the site indicated that that download did not exist.

Can either of you guys confirm that Kazmir is "somewhere" in the database and on an Indians roster? If you can, then I must be doing something procedurally to block out my roster deposits into my Indians Franchise.

Kazmir is definitely in the Indians organizational roster in both OSFM Hybrid v 2.3 and the latest SCEA roster

When you uploaded Kazmir, you uploaded him to the vault again (I guess). Basically to the same spot you grabbed him from. Or you uploaded him as a backup of that file to your PSN cloud if you're a premium member of the PSN network?

Thanks for your help, Totte, for your patience and for your persistence in giving help.

I found him (finally) on 2.3 and I'll begin my season with lessons learned from this trial that will be greatly helpful next year. What I plan to do next, using the Indians transactions list on their web site on MLB, is to sim the season up 'till now with those upgraded roster changes.

I would encourage some of your guys to team up and write a fairly comprehensive discussion of the roster system and how it is used to update each team coming out of ST and on through the season. It would be helpful for the newcomers to this game and for some of us purists that want to play the game "accurately" on each and every day.

The (new to me) daily match-up in the menu system is very helpful to play a pick-up game based upon games played in the past or for the current day. But, notwithstanding that new opportunity, it still requires us to ensure our current lineup from inside the game is updated. the game requires constant tweaking and that is where you guys bail us out.

Since I now have Kazmir in the line-up, I'm no longer concerned about how to upload him individually.
