Same goes for Jose Fernandez, they give him a slider and it's not shown on BrooksBaseball: http://brooksbaseball.net/tabs.php?p.../2013&s_type=2

Point is, I don't think one should say they are doing pitch edits using BrooksBaseball and then make up their own pitch type.

buddy, I didn't research the pitch edits, nor have i used brooksbaseball.net - is it a good site? I transferred the data seanjeezy compiled - he scrapped these long ago. i don't know how latos ended up with a sinker, but I'm going to give a look over the set when I get home this evening.

Fernandez & Miller weren't overhauled, only tweaked. sometimes a guy's rating will go up significantly after his pitches are changed, or depending on his stamina/durability/fielding.

        Excellent by all means.

The only significant problem with Brooksbaseball is they don't differentiate between sinker and two-seam fastball. If you want to consider them both the same pitch, then call them all sinkers. However, there must be a reason why baseball generally makes that distinction between them.

By the way, I'm not an expert and never claimed to be one.

Given your last few comments, you should start making your own rosters

So you don't like to know what could be improved?

Editing players does not do what you may think it does. I will give you an example:

You can make Jose Fernandez a 99, give him the attributes that would ordinarily create a young Justin Verlander in his prime and he will still not be sorted higher than Shelby Miller, sorting by potential. You can do the same to Paul Goldschmidt and compare to say Mike Stanton. My belief is players are coded in the game as to who is going to do what. You can edit all you want and it will not change the inevitable.

Getting back to your comment, I assume you would rather play with pitchers having the incorrect pitch type than hear from someone giving information that could help.

By the way, I'm 71 years old and not about to edit a roster even if it really had the effect I desired.

Potential and current ability are two very different things.

Current ability, especially from young pitchers, has, in my opinion, a lot to do with potential--in real baseball. They will not always pan out, but they often do. Jose Fernandez entered this season at age 20, and he was an All Star (ERA 2.19). What has Shelby Miller done? By all accounts, Jose should have more potential than Miller--based on what he has done. Miller is just one comparison.

My point is if you edit a player to reflect amazing attributes, the player should benefit in potential. The problem is you can't edit potential and player potential is coded into the game.
