Ah good plan. That was the original purpose of including rf as a secondary position for him... gutierrez is my 12 year old brother's favorite player. He always chooses the orioles when we play.

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
I'm definitely utilizing guys who have good secondary positions. Like 1st/corner outfield or middle infielders having outfield too.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams
UWW | UWGB | Duke

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Also, I have a player requests for the next version.... (replace with current starter if possible)
Anthony Bailey, Tigers LF, 6 ft, 211 lbs, #3, white, short black har, stubble scruffy beard, high socks, 3/4 sleeves, wrist tape on both wrists, turtleneck (no NIKE), curved hat, type 11 sunglasses ON HAT, 5 tool player (which basically means he is a good all-around player), 29 years old
EDIT - Another thing I noticed is there isnt a single RP in the 90 overall range. So something for the next version is to make the RP's betterLast edited by maizeblue13; 06-27-2013, 09:10 AM.Tigers|Wolverines|Red Wings|Pistons|LionsPSN - maizeblue13Comment

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
In all honesty, I think it's a little crass to say he's hesitant to do any of the dirty work. He essentially completed this project single-handedly, so I don't think it's completely wrong for him to ask for specific issues. Everyone seems to have a vision for what this roster set is supposed to be, but I think it's important to remember that he is the one putting the time into these, not anyone else. Also, if people have specific players they would like created, why not just create them themselves? It honestly doesn't take that long to create one player and then you can't be upset with the result since it's your own work.

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Thank-you so much, king. These are great and having messed around importing/exporting, editing, saving, deleting and starting over and over and over trying to decide which roster to start a franchise with, I've finally settled on this one, with a few of my favourites from the 80's era (Thanks PJ) imported in.
Anyone that complains about something you did for free, spending hours of your time on so we can all enjoy it, all I can say is, you don't deserve to use it, anyway.
GREAT job and thanks again!

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
you're very welcome, it was my pleasure. and thank you maize. when he is in the vault just let me know. please just make sure you put his potential rating in the description. as for the relievers, it's that way for a reason actually... the way I saw things, most bullpens in the majors are made up at least half of guys who are capable of being starters anyways. also, when creating rosters, I didn't make any closers until the very end. I simply changed each teams best reliever to a closer at the end. However I will consider bumping up a couple guys... I didn't think about teams like the braves who have kimbrel and venters, or the yankees from last year with mo, soriano, and robertson. at the very least I'll make a couple guys in at least the mid 90s. thank you for your input, I probably wouldn't have thought to do it otherwise.Comment

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
I wasn't complaining about king's work, and I think he knows that. Or atleast I hope he does. I applaud him tremendously for taking over and continuing this awesome project! I DO know how much time this project takes. I did it the last two years.
Raleigh McClure, M.K. Knight and several others of us started the first one in '11. McClure had a baby about half way through and I took over and finished the first year.
'12 I did the bulk of the work with the help of a few other awesome members. It takes more hours than you can imagine, unless you've done it.
This year life got in my way of doing the roster and comatosedragon stepped up and took charge, until life pulled him away as well. It was coma's roster that Mr. Random added to I believe that ended up being the base this year.
Anyways, I look forward to version 1.1 and take it from a vet the roster will never be "perfect" in the creator's eyes. You will always find ways to improve it. You will spend more time editing than you ever do playing. So be careful king and don't get addicted or obsessed and forget to enjoy the fruits of your labor!Comment

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Haha thabks for the advice sluggbugg. I spent this morning trying to enjoy them... ended up just getting whooped on by guys I made.. unfortunate. However, the seemingly very popular nick mcknight went 3 for 4 with a homer and a double for me, so there's a bright spit. Anyways, I'm back to working on rosters and making tweaks now so v1.1 should be out today sometime. If you have changes in mind post suggestions here now.Comment

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Here are the stats on Covington if you want to re-create him for the roster or just personal use. Now something of note - This was the base stats that the roster generator we used at the time put out. This may not have been how he was by the time the roster was released. A lot of tweaking went into those rosters after the base was laid down. For Instance I thought his Power was higher than that so it very well could have got adjusted. Also we ended up going back and adding additional points TO EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in the Defense categories. After V1 was released we realized the that there were 0 Defensive stars and realized that the generator put out pretty low numbers in those categories. I could check his official in-game stats to see the adjustments made, but that would require to much time at the moment.Anyway, here is how he was "originally" created, feel free to take liberties as you see fit.

Wonderful, thank you. He should be close to the same, except a few years older. I typically tried to do that with the guys I remembered this year.Comment

Re: 2013 OS FICTIONAL rosters
Just a thought guys, but what kind of interest would you all have in starting a casual online league with these rosters? Fantasy draft, could be fun
EDIT: Just like 10 or 15 games over a month or two. Not a big commitment or anythingLast edited by king_riles4; 06-27-2013, 02:56 PM.Comment
