I hope the rosters this year will be good for fantasy draft. Im not claiming to be the only fictional roster and have not been a part of the past fictional rosters other than using them in my franchises and loving it as a different way to play.

My goal this year is to just make a fun experience and fill a void or add to the options of playing the game for a fictional roster. I have my own ideas of the making a great fictional roster and look forward to sharing it with everyone...and look forward to working with some good guys.

      Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters

I do have nothing but HIGH PRAISE for anyone who takes the time to do these, or any rosters.

I love using these, but found last year's main one to be too hard to use. Two major points, and a suggestion for this year's crew would be to be try the opposite. Again, not a shot in any form or fashion, I just got to the point of doing Fantasy Drafts, and my team and most others kind of really sucked.

      1) Players were too old (especially Pitchers). I believe by the 3rd round, there was not a single pitcher available under the age of 34. I don't remember the exact facts, but last year I did some Fantasy Drafts, and some Real Roster Fantasy Drafts. The Fictional ones were WAY older.

      2) Not enough stars. Yes, I like teams' roster not basically being an all-star team, but often there would be one 90 on a team (some had none, if I remember correctly). One team had 3 90's and I remember being absolutely shocked.

I LOVE these, love the idea, and appreciate all the work. 2011 and 2012 I played multiple full seasons with these.

Last year, I never started a season because after the draft so many teams were extremely old and not very talented.

My suggestion: Much younger players (mostly everyone under 34), and more quality star players, both every day and pitchers.

      Thanks for reading!!!

I just HAVE to say this, too: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (or any DEITY) HAVE ONLY Stirrup Socks OR High Socks.

The era of pajama pants is the most horrid sports has ever known (I'd even take the White Sox's Shorts over these...and yes, that is a TRUE statement).

I find it an embarrassment to Ruth, Gehrig, Mays, Young, Williams, Maddux, Gibson, and so many others...

cant promise stirrup socks, but guys will have long socks as well as other hopefully realistic looking uniforms, gear, faces and styles. Im not looking to do a retro set but hope you'll still try to enjoy them

I cannot enjoy them until all players get changed to stirrup/high socks.

The other 3 options are an embarrassment to baseball at a fundamental level. Terrible, simply terrible, and George Hendrick is a jerk!

ps- I HOPE TO HIGH HEAVEN that some day they have an universal editor, so with a few presses you can change ALL socks to stirrups...I have spent hours upon hours of my life changing these dumb looking things...

I also hope the league in this years Fictional Rosters is stronger/younger (ie, more fun).

The leauge will be mostly generated from my own player generator I created using real mlb tendencies, averages and make up. Of course things will be tweaked to be the best it can..i don't see a lot of old players appearing in the roster but there will be some. Also I plan to keep the stars as stars and limiting the amount of A potentials. Things may change based on the new rating system though

I'm not sure if you were the primary guy who did last year's, but as I said, I think it was the 3rd round and pretty much all SP under 34 were gone.

From 2011 & 2012 that did not seem to happen. I agree with you wholeheartedly, the league should not be diluted with stars, but the 2 things I noticed from last year were "very few" stars and many, many players over 30. (I actually found this so much so that I used the All-time rosters instead because these were highly unplayable for me, and I clearly prefer Fantasy)

Thanks for your efforts on this in advance! (...and stirrup socks, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee)

I had nothing to do with any other version before this except play with them. I enjoyed them but it ultimately made me want to create my own. This will be my first attempt at a fictional roster but have put a lot of prep time into this.

Ps I actually hate stirrup socks. So my best suggestion is to try them out to see if they're worth editing to all stirrup socks

You do realize that you are #1. Not the only person using these rosters. #2. Not participating in the time and effort to create them and #3. Can edit the final product yourself.

I wont be doing any stirrups when I create these teams, because I hate stirrups and wont waste my time on them, so you will have to edit every team I create.

Please dont complain about something you get for free.

                          Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters

I am working with "the guy" who did them last year. As for the disparity in ages, that has been recognized and already solved by writing a new formula to portray ages more accurately. The "lack of stars" is actually misinterpretation of our overall ratings. All players are rated lower than usual, it allows a few "stars" to rise above the rest as the best of the best. On a final note, these rosters are made as basically an alternate dimension MLB if that makes sense. So there will be few if any stirrup socks. We do, however, appreciate feedback

PS to my fellow creators-contact me and lets work together with an all star team of roster creators! Trust me, this is hundreds of hours of labor time and will go much better as a team

As has been discussed..we are not looking to be "adversaries" or "rivals". I have nothing against the previous versions as I have used them exclusively for my franchises and RTTS but am very interested in giving it a go myself.

Im not sure what the community wants...the same names and rosters as last year so guys have an idea who is good/bad/, develops into a star or busts..ect or want a whole new experience and new reality...feel free to post your thoughts and feedback..

Last year, guys LOVED seeing some of their old faves come back, as well as a few guys snuck themselves in there too. I really believe basing them off last year would be wise. Obviously we always need A TON of new names as well. I just fail to see any scenario where it would be nest to not work together; we can help each other out, get them out in half to time, and do them twice as well. Ive seen your generator MLB Bob, between that, your obvious technical skills, and our experience, time, and work preserved from last year, I cant see any reason we wouldn't team up and do an amazing job. thoughts?
