    Re: White Sox 2014 OSFM

    Danish is now in the vault.

    Before I get complaints about his potential, everyone needs to remember that many scouts view him as an elite late inning reliever. I am slightly torn between his ceiling as a SP/RP, so I feel this is a very fair judgement that captures both equally.

        Johnson made it, but like I said earlier, some of the Sox hitters are not my work. I'm just releasing what I have in my personal roster. If people want to use mine, they can, if not no harm done.

          I plan on sticking with everyone that you release. I will use your Anderson, Johnson, Danish, Rondon and hopefully Zapata, Vance and anyone else you wanted to originally add

                  Yeah, I was pretty certain he had short, buzzed hair, not dreads at all. I'll have to fix that I guess.

                    If anyone was disappointed by SCEA's ratings for Abreu (looks like OSFM made him even worse), I did some rating tweaks that look pretty fair to me....

                    Here are the ratings that SCEA gave him, and the ratings I bumped him up to...

                    Contact vs R - 54 -------> 60
                    Contact vs L - 58 -------> 65
                    Plate Vision - 34 --------> 60
                    Plate Discipline - 50 -----> 70
                    Fielding Ability - 54 ------> 65
                    Fielding Reaction - 53 ----> 65

                    This takes his overall from a 77 to an 84, which is more reasonable I think, considering he was just named AL Player of the Month in his first month in the league, in a new country/culture, in historically cold weather, against pitchers he'd never seen before. It's not unreasonable to think he will do even better this summer and had a legit shot at 35/120 in a rookie season, which would likely get him to an AS game and top 10 MVP voting.

                        I though I misread that at first, had to look at him in my game. I gave him Fade B for a hairstyle, but I'm still on the PS3, so maybe something switches over on the PS4? He definitely does not have dreads in real life.

                          I actually thought the updated SCEA version in the last roster update was pretty spot on. They boosted his power a lot, increased his clutch, and lowed his vision. As good (and fun to watch) as Abreu has been, he's only batting .254 (before tonight's game) and is sporting a 25% K rate in his plate appearances.

                            There needs to be a K% and BB% attribute for hitters, because I don't feel like Plate Vision and Plate Discipline are specific enough.

                            Because I argue that Abreu has good vision and good discipline at the plate. Because he covers so much of the plate, he actually doesn't "chase" very much. His K%, IMO, is due to his aggression and below average contact ability, not because he is swinging at pitches he can't reach. Also, he takes a lot of pitches just off the plate, which makes me think he has a good eye.

                            I don't know if any of that makes sense, but I think a BB% attribute would be above average for Abreu, and a K% attribute would be below (worse) than average.

                              I think Abreu has a pretty decent amount for both (better vision than discipline though), but its so hard to say because he is still adjusting to the league and vice versa. If anything, his ratings should probably be reversed. He has a pretty crappy BB% right now, and I have seen some pretty terrible at bats by him chasing pitches (sliders down and away). SCEA seems to update the bigger "prospects" as the year goes on, so I'm not worried that he will be underrated by June/July. I'm sure he will be in the 80's before long.
