    Anyone got any Veteran Sliders?

I can barely win on that (I suck, I know) but would like a little more offense out of the cpu. All the games are 2-1 3-2 1-0. ANy help is appreciated.

I'm on veteran with pitch count slider maxed and CPU pitch speed maxed. So far, it's been giving me great results.

That's it. Slider pitch count and CPU pitch speed at max. I just lost to the Brewers 7-0 and then turned around and beat them 6-0. I've seen errors, plenty of 2b's, a triple, and some HR's. I can't believe I actually went over 100 pitches last game.

I am playing on Veteran with these settings.

            Pitching - Classic
Pitch Speed - maxed out for both
            Pitch Count - maxed out
Errors - plus 2 from default

That is it. I played some nice games so far. I have tried all the other levels and this seems to work well. I need to keep playing to find my comfort level but this is looking promising. I may have to tweak the power sliders as I am also not seeing many homers.

Here is an update after playing 3 games. Both me and the CPU got 8-10 hits a game. The scores were 7-4, 4-3, and 3-0. I struck out about 8-10 times and had 1-2 walks a game (I am a hacker). Pitch counts were awesome with both pitchers throwing 75-80 pitches by the 6 and 7th innings. In 3 games I saw 2 errors. I walked 6 in one game and 2 in the others and struck out about 4-5 batters a game. Averaged about 2 doubles a game per team and saw one triple. Only one homer by both teams in 3 games so I am going to try this out with power at 12 and see what happens. I am loving this game now. Also, my pitching has improved greatly and I am only seeing 1-3 wild pitches. I just couldn't pitch on AllStar. This game is fun again!

Re: Anyone got any Veteran Sliders?

Just played two more great games, this is where I'm at.

                Difficulty: Veteran
                Hot/Cold zones: on
                Strikezone: on
                Cursor: Fade
                Vibration: Off

                Pitch count slider: maxed
CPU and Human pitch speed: maxed

                Camera views
                Pitching: wide
                Batting: wide
                Fielding: medium

                Slides and fielding: manual
                Guess pitch: on

I also alternate ump consistency between wide and tight every other game.

The "wide" view when batting as well as the pitch speed sliders all the way up, really make FB pitchers harder to hit. My strikeouts are now normal.

I like the idea of switching Ump from Wide to Tight every other game. I have been playing with it Wide since the game came out and that could get frustrating at times. Will have to try Tight.

Re: Anyone got any Veteran Sliders?

Just played and had it come out my most realistic so far. In my first 4 games combined I had 1 triple, about 5 doubles, alot of singles and ZERO HR's.

I was using the Royals and beat the White Sox 7-6.
Royals 7 runs, 15 hits, and 2 errors
WSox 6 runs, 10 hits, and 0 errors

                    Royals 4 doubles and 2 HR's
                    WSox 2 triples and 3 HR's

Royals used 3 pitchers and they walked 2 and K'd 5
WSox used 4 pitchers and they walked 3 and K'd 7
                    Here are my settings:

                    USER
                    Veteran

                    Throw Strength : -2
                    Throw Accuracy : -3
                    Error Frequency : +2
                    Pitch Count : MAX

(All ratings are from the Defualt setting)

                    Pitch Interface : Meter
                    Umpire Consistency : Wide
                    Guess Pitch : On
                    Hot Zones : On
                    Strike Zone : On
                    Pitching Ball Marker : Off

                    Pitching View : Outfield
                    Fielding View : Medium

I will continue to use this setup and let you know how it goes if you want me to.

Interesting maxing out the Contact slider and Base Running aggressiveness. I haven't found a problem with baserunning. I have seen a couple of attempts to steal every game.

Yeah, I've also seen a realistic amount of errors with that slider at default. Griffey had one pop out of his glove to allow 3 unearned runs and a Cardinal victory last night.

My first 4 games with the error slider at default I did not have an error committed by either team. I needed to do something, we are the Royals.

I've upped the CPU contact and power +1 to see if I can get a tad more hits and hr's out of the CPU controlled teams.

Changed a couple of things and just had a really good game vs the Pirates.

                              STL 3 7 1
                              PIT 4 10 0

Each team had a HR, they had 9 K's, I had 6. I was finally out hit by the CPU, which might be a first.
