    MOM settings?

I don't have a lot of time to play, but I like to play a little mom from time to time....

Anyone have any settings they want to share? I'm winning and losing some with the braves in MOM, but I'm curious what others are doing.

    Re: MOM settings?

I've played a few games on default veteran, and am pretty happy. Changing players def. ratings would help a ton, but I don't really have time to do all of that. I'm not sure how much difficulty setting has to do with MOM, because I'm 3-4 w/ the braves in MOM, which is about the same I am playing the old fashioned way.

      Re: MOM settings?

I play all of my franchise games manage only mode.
I'm trying to just play a season out...and see what needs the most attention.
I have some pitcher edits that I do. One is for all starting pitchers the other is for relievers. It takes just a few minutes.
One thing I'm noticing is the batting avgs. are a little high. I'm going to knock down the contact slider 2 more clicks and see if that helps...otherwise I'm editing player attributes.
If you have any specific questions, I'll try and answer.

One thing you should know about manage only mode....in the games you play....the CPU will NOT try and steal. It's a bug. They will steal in the other games against other teams and simmed games...so it's not the worst. Sucks..but I'll live with it.

        Re: MOM settings?

I've had a couple of freezing issues w/ MOM lately.......but I'm hoping it's my ps2. I can replace it pretty cheap.......but if their is a freezing problem in MOM, not much I can do about that!

So what level are you playing on?

FWIW, i'm on vet default, and my avg's are about right w/ the braves...because only Andruw is hitting anything. Early in the season he's over .400, Chipper is at .308, and everyone else is struggling like a mofo!

Also, I think I found a fix for the int. walks, stealing (when we don't tell them to do it). Instead of hitting triangle to "play ball", hit X, then triangle and they won't do anything you don't tell them to, including stealing and bunting. So if I can get past the freezing, I'm doing great w/ MOM.

My ps2 is old, has been through a few moves, and I have a 21 month old, so if you're reading this, I wouldn't assume MOM has issues w/ freezing.......it's probably just my ps2 (I hope).

thanks Knight........you on all star or what bro?

          I'm playing on HOF setting.
The workaround you talk about will work for you....that's what I do. If you have runners on..with 2 outs and a 3-2 count...and you do "ALL STEAL" to send the runners...and the guy walks or gets a hit...you can go into the pinch runner screen and go all the way through like you are going to pinch run for the runners....when the screen asks you "do you want to continue?" just answer no...and back out....that usually "resets" the runners so they won't steal on the next pitch
The "freeze" you see is a combo of...a dirty PS2 lens...and using the "quick buttons". If you are not going to use the triangle button...try and use the long way to call a play. I've only had three "freezes" but it was always when I used the R button and a quick key.
What seems to be the consensus is...that the game searches for the next animation...but a dirty lens causes the freeze. It's so uncommon, I don't even worry...but I do just use a can of air to blow any dirt out of the tray opening. I've never actually cleaned the lens...just that.
