I'm not getting quite the amount of homers with Yanks, Is there trick to hitting them

I am through month 1 and Giambi is the leader with 6, folowed by A-Rod (4), Matsui (4) and a bunch of guys with 2 or 3 each.

I am playing on all-star level and swinging with both conract and power. I have hit homers using both swings, but I feel that my better hr hitters should be hitting more out.
What should I be trying to do?
Do I have to push the left toggle up? Does that get loft on the ball? I always just swing with the button and leave the toggle stick alone. Please give me some tips, advice!
Also, I don't really want to jack up the human power, but would that do the trick? Thanks in advance!

All I do is hit X button and on good pitches I have no problems getting homers with the Dodgers.

I play on All-Star using Playmakers sliders. You should give those a try a see if that helps. I use his regular All-Star sliders not his Universal Sliders and get very good HR numbers.

I would jack up power but not to exceed 10. Give yourself some contact not zero. Also, you have to learn the pitch counts and how the pitcher is pitching you. Inside, outside, inside, guess a location with the stick (4) zones should not be too hard. Look for a fastball and make contact. Also try and use the power swing feature...it really works! You can get HR's with "X" only swing but they are rare.

Note: The CPU loves to throw low fastballs down the middle on the first pitch..be prepared to go yard. 2-0 counts usually get offspeed not HR pitches. CPU likes to pitch to the corners so be a pull hitter. There's a difference between "hacking" and hitting. Hitting is art, it requires patience, working the count, getting a hitters count, analyzing how the cpu is pitching you and finally making good contact (timing). Sometimes HR's come by not swinging. What I mean is, wait for your pitch.

Thanks guys, I'll give both of your sugestions a try and let you know some results after a few games. This board is the best. Makes you see that there are a lot of good people in the world.

I pretty much keep everything on default (except for pitch count which is maxed out) and get a realistic amount of homeruns out of my better hitters. I go back and fourth b/t all - star and HOF and always swing for contact. I guess it also depends on the matchup between batter and pitcher and what the hot/cold zones say about that matchup.
