The contact slider doesn't effect strikeout totals. The contact slider decides what kind of contact you'll get after the game determines that you've actually made contact. Pitch speed (user only) and the pitch count slider are the only sliders that effect stikeout totals. By increasing pitch count, batters (both you and the CPU) will foul off more pitches, which turns some swing and misses into foul balls.

Cool...thanks for the input. There have been a lot of times when I change a particular slider and I could swear something that shouldn't have been affected seemed to have changed. It's like you have to play 50 games to get acurate assessments...lol

WARNING!!!!: You SHOULD/WILL be WAY better than the CPU...This is a good set of base sliders to help people who strike out too much and who cannot strike the cpu out for anything. You may end up with 0 human strike outs, 10 cpu Ks, and 6 errors, but at least you've solved your problem and can tweak from there.

I've been playing with close to the same sliders for some time and believe me, higher contact does not dramatically lower strikeouts. It does allow you to use "X" instead of the L stick to fight off 3-2 and 2-2 counts. This helps reduce strikeouts for me but I'm still striking out 8 times a game. Mostly on offspeed pitches on 2-2 counts!

Thanks...so with hum contact @ 20, hum strikeouts would still be possible right?

If that meter is maxed, pitchers strike you out a little too much. If its low, you tend to hit much better. One thing I really don't like about this game is that walking is a very arduous task. I've yet to walk more than 3 times in a game. I really work the count and those 2-2, 3-2 counts are tough to simply take pitches.
