Do NOT put Pitch count at 20

I see all sliders at 20, because one of the developers when the game 1st came out said "This is the best setting"

    Well, no it is not

We have problems with pitchers pitching 4 Innings or less, even if they have 50-60 pitch counts

    Leave pitch count alone!

It does not effect walks to put it at 20, in fact you will lose walks since 99% of walks will be on 3-2 counts

If you havew a great eye and got 2 or 3 walks on 20 pitch count...go to 15, if you have trouble walking, stay at default....the P will throw OBVIOUS balls

This horrible urban legend has to die....pitch count at 20 kills the gameplay

The only thing I see that is different with increasing pitch count in the amount of foul balls. I really don't see any problems with pitch count at 20.

I tend to agree that PC at 20 isn't the best setting.

With experience I've taken it down to 12 and I still see walks.

The early pitcher exits do remain an isolated problem, but that's more to do with the poor implementation of the confidence system. IMO anyway.

Agreed. I think this is what Pitch Count effects the most. Not necessarily walks but foul balls.

I have noticed some pitchers getting taken out early, so this is the reason why?. I thought higher pitch count meter meant the AI would work the count more and not just throw strikes, even do 90 percent of the time THE FIRST PITCH will be a strike right down the middle or sides, sometimes it isnt do and sometimes they dont even work the count at all it is all balls or strikes.

So you say leave it at Default or find a medium?

I played two games at 12 and did not walk either game. I had very few 3-0, 2-1, 2-0, 3-1 counts. The CPU threw way too many strikes in which I proceeded to demolish the CPU by scoring 10 and 12 runs in each game. No need to work the count here, swing away...so I don't know what you're trying to say. I did strike out only 4 times, an indication that the CPU was throwing too many pitches in the zone. I honestly saw very few hitter counts as the CPu even threw strikes on 0-2! So I'm raising it to 20 again. I miss my 3-2 battles with the cPU. Higher pitch counts means the CPU has to throw more balls vs. lower pitch counts. Also missing was the 12 pitch at bats where you foul off tons of pitches.

I completely agree with you here. I remember fooling around with this at the beginning and seeing that I crush the ball because of all of the strikes thrown. Maxing it out forces some patience and that's why so many people strike out so much.

My personal experience shows me that this works, but when a developer says it's the most realistic and toughest way to play, that has to mean something, right?

Yes, I have no problem getting 3-2 counts with max. I need to judge the offspeed, breaking stuff better to get past the 2 walk average. That's what makes hitting fun.
