    Pitcher Stamina Help

Anyway to help the CPU pitch longer? 2 runs, 2 walks, normal # of pitches does not mean they should be pulled after getting first out in 5th inning. Slider to help? Already adjusted all SP's stamina higher. Anyone?

Is this a common occurence? Has anyone ever had a complete game thrown against them by the CPU??

Myself and others have speculated that this is more of a pitcher confidence than a stamina problem.

There are some roster edits for starting pitchers that help some and I believe that turning off guess pitch also helps.

I haven't been able to completely solve the problem though.

Aces and #2 starters will usually still go deep into games.

Thanks for the reply. I like to use guess pitch though, I tend to have a better idea what pitch is coming, maybe i'll switch to "wide' rather than "tight" strike zone and see more about editing. I can't remember what pitcher I was against but was the no. 1 or 2 pitcher of the other team. Maybe I can convince myself when it happens again that the pitcher pulled their groin or something.LOL.

You can still use guess pitch. Confidence only really starts taking a hit if you use it on every pitch.

The stamina edits are highly recommended. I think it was full stamina for all 1 and 2 starters and then slight reductions from full for all the 3-4-5 starters. There's a thread on it somewhere back there.

Since the AI refuses to use the mound visit function you should also start switching over control the opposing team and forcing mound visits when appropriate. This will help their starter's confidence recover some and possibly keep them in longer.

Here's Knight165's starting pitcher edits for opposing pitchers:

Stamina: Full for #1 & #2 pitchers, 2 clicks below max for #3 pitchers, 3 clicks below max for #4 pitchers, and 4 clicks below max for #5 pitchers.
Pitching Clutch: 20 clicks below max for all pitchers. If it's really low to begin with, go 35 clicks below max.
Durability: 20 clicks below max for all pitchers.

Doesn't durability have to do more with injuries though? Did you notice a difference with these adjustments? Thx for the help people!!!

I'll try bumping up stamina ratings even more than I did then and see what happens. Basically it seems all will be practically maxed out. You are probably right about confidence problem being the reason. Am going to really check out what makes confidence go up and down. I really do not want to adjust those other settings though because each pitcher has a different setting and mght take away from pitchers being different from one another. Thanks.
