    Manager Hook Slider?

Just wondering what slider most of you guys are using on this one? I play on HOF level with the slider at default and I think that the starting pitchers go way too long. I was playing the Cubs the other night and Zambrano was still pitching in the 7th inning after giving up 13 hits and 8 runs in the game. I got 6 hits and 4 runs off of him in the top of the 7th inning and they let him bat in the bottom of that inning and he even came back out in the 8th for 1 batter before they pulled him. This is the PS3 version by the way.

based on the Cub's bullpen this year, that's probably a good move to leave him in! hehe

Sorry, I can't help, but I couldn't resist taking a shot at my cubbies!

I have mine at 2 clicks above default as MY new default....
Then....as I play my series....I have been adjusting it as necessary. Like when I went up against the Yankees....it seems as though Torre has a quick hook this year...so in order for the CPU to play it more like Torre would...I went up another notch....
Too bad we couldn't get a bunch of guys who watch teams regularly to post how their manager plays it in the actual MLB...then guys looking for a little more real to life realism...could also adjust accordingly..

Wow, what are your cpu pitch counts like when they are taken out? I am having the opposite problem and the hook slider does not seem to have much effect. Even with high stamina starters they rarely go past 6 innings in my games even without many runs given up. Of course my sliders are producing near realistic pitch counts on both sides.

Still not a bad move considering how well he hits.

Pretty darn good. I don't see a guy pulled unless he's getting whooped(from the mound..they might PH for him) or has thrown 90+ pitches.
I must admit that I do a little editing on SP in the game. I do raise the stamina a little.
On the same note.....with Zambrano batting....this is the one area that bugs me with the game..they have some pitchers with much too much in the area of CONTACT and POWER. I make sure that every pitcher(except for the "very good" hitting ones) have almost NOTHING in the CONTACT and POWER attribute bars.

Yeah.....I've noticed that a lot of pictures have high averages in franchise play.

Well, I have to admit that I'm not real patient at the plate always so the pitch counts aren't necessarily high. If the hook is based on pitch count, I guess that's why they keep them in there. If it's based on hits and runs given up, I don't understand it then.
